clerics prevent damage, grant you life, and slowly drain your opponent.
one notable combo in this deck is Shaman en-Kor + Daru Spiritualist. Because Shaman en-Kor can target himself with the 0 redirect ability he can have unlimited toughness. then once he's a 1/1,000,000 sacrifice him using starlit sactum for the 1,000,000 life. And at that point, if you have sanguine bond in play, you should instantly kill your opponent.
