The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...
Start typing a card name and use the auto-complete feature to quickly select the card you're trying to add. Enter a quantity and add that card to your sideboard!
Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.
Just wanted to make a Standard deck for my local FNM so here it is I need some help with it.
This deck has been viewed 20,611 times.
dude, less singles maybe? :)
There is that a little better.
singles, but the strippers love the singles
A lot of these cards seem really hard to cast considering your mana. Might want some chromatic lanterns in there to help out with all the double and triple mana occurences you have going on
I might thanks for the help not a lot of people really do.
People are far more dickish when you spam comments about grammar till you front page.
You need 4 rootbound
Drop the hellion crucible it's shit
Your decks mana is janky you want a turn 1 red mana into a turn 2 double green
And turn three depending on your hand double red or double green your drops in this deck are going to be really slow
With that said you really either need to focus your deck towards green or red so you can use the better cards in that color more easily if you go green
(That's all off the top of my head but I believe there's more)
While still splashing red for huntmaster, bonfire (if you can afford it) and Chandra as well as some burn based removal
If you go red base this becomes far more Aggro an you run
4 ash zealot
But as is the mana will ruin this deck
i have a lot to say about this deck, but i dont really have the time to sit down and write it all. but the first thing and perhaps the most important thing, u will get here.
you are playing 2 colors that needs the shock-lands that all other decks are playing, and that make the mana much better for them than the mana is for these 2 colors. please play 4 rootbound. and please dont play the land that does nothing for you. the hellion cruciable. it can only give you colerless in a deck that in the beginning have a problem with their mana base. and the fact that it sacrefices itself to become a creature makes it basicly the worst man-land i know.
ill get back to you with some more. and please, i may seem like the guy who only points out the wrongs, but i will get constructive in my criticism, when i post my next reply. hope you will bear with me untill then. - Kaare Out
R/G doesn't have standard shock-lands yet but when they do I am going to put them in. I took out the cruciable. I thank you and some people do just go around and point out wrongs but I like the people who actually make sense.
Ok, so I have to agree with most of the above posts here. The hellion crucible doesn't add anything to your deck, and the noble should be sideboarded for human decks. You have lots of good cards in here, but they have very little synergy early on. either you need more ramp, or fewer high CMC cards. The soul bond cards are good, but far too slow for competitive play. Anything above 4 cmc should end a standard gamewithin the next 3 turns, and not need 2 more 4+ cmc cards to do it.
Personally I would add in some more 1 cmc cards. Green creatures in particular. Or some mana ramp, to be able to get those high cmc cards out faster. Not trying to be a downer here, but that is what I think of this deck. I wish that I could be more helpful in my comments... But that's all I got right now. Hope it helps. Happy deckbuilding. :)
Playing Reverberate with only 11 targets seems stupid. Maybe you should invest in Ulvenwald Tracker or Arbor Elf instead to lower your mana curve.
I took out the reverberates you were correct and added farseek for land fetch instead of arbor elf but thanks for the input.
My advice listen to racky54, Kazzong, there are great deck builders and great people to know on here. KJSJ3 knows what to do no doubt. Poetmaster is brutally honest but not 100% right i seen them tear apart a replica of a grand prix winning deck. Everyone is right about the grammer talk. This is deck building not english class. If i didnt mention anyone i know sorry. Noble should be sideboarded I agree. As far as the deck I too would probably tear it down and focus on certain cards like huntsmaster for instance it can get nasty quick but easy to kill so maybe sheltering word to save it. maybe focus more on the token aspect with huntsmaster and garruk. Add other token generation to go aggro that direction. B/R aggro is after all the thing to beat grand prix circuit anyway. Parallel Lives is a slow card but if it ETB it can be devastating in a token deck. With R/G there are plenty of tokens available and its a very easy deck to use. As stated above argueably the main focus of green is mana ramp, and the main focus of red would be burn. You just need to figure out what direction you want to take this deck. This is a deckbuilding site we should all be here to help if you want some advice comment on one of my decks. I'll post the link to my FNM deck check it out and see what you could be going up against and go from there. Hope this helps Good Luck.
After reading my own post I just want to say I was not trying to bash Poetmaster as it may seem. Truth be told I ask for his opinion on most of my decks. I have gotten alot of constructive criticism that has been quite helpful.
I Think that this is a pretty good deck. Some of your cards have a very questionable mana cost, but other than that its really good. You might want out try out heirs of stornboork same as blade master but it starts out at 2/2.
Heirs of stromkirk isn't bad. But I would say blademaster is way better. Even though it starts out as a 1/1 instead of a 2/2, the double strike far outweighs that 1 in difference. because blademaster will get bigger 2 times faster than the heirs will, even with the intimidate, and it costs one less to put out as well.
i suggest retaining one hellion crucible, just to be a mana dump on some turns, remove vexing devils add some searing spears, possibly 2 thundermaws - he's too good
i suggest flames of the firebrand on SB
i agree with trollking21 on this one, it's either you go mono-green or mono-red
red for traditional aggro
green for ramp aggro
strangleroot + wolfir is pretty damn badass
add in a rancor too
In either version you can still splash a the other color but its needs to be heavily based in one of the two
I'm going to give you the best advice for this type of deck. If you see blue slow play the shit out that son of a bitch. Meaning wait until he plays something if he or she doesn't play anything take that time to use card that will put lands in your hand or into play. This will force the player to use up the counter spells on those card. Someone gave me that advice and it works wonders.
... Not trying to be rude or anything but that doesn't work at all. If the blue deck you go up against is really a counter deck, they have plenty of cards in that deck to cancel all of your land ramping cards AND your good cards. Plus blue decks dont always play countering. I run a blue deck that takes an infinite turn... Which can be funny.
While there's no standard infinite turns you want to put just enough threats to force a verdict it terminus
Replace markov with rootbound geist and replace vexing devil with pyreheart wolf
Please like my deck:
Don't know this rootbound geist. Do you mean strangleroot geist?
no room for strangleroot geist the deck is leaning towards red
pyheart wolf is a 3cmc there lots of better cards for that cost that is better in constructed
what cards could replace bonfire and huntmaster to make this a good budget deck?
please look at my deck i was thinking of a way to get publicitiy i feel like a dumb ass look tho please its (golgari)
add one of Chandra and one of Garruk, throw away Markov Blademaster, ash zealot doesn't really do anything for you except be a cheap 2\2, focus on going from round 2 and out. more farseek DEFFINENTLY 2 more pillar of fire and mizzium mortar. You really don't need bonfire because you're not ramping up to it and only half committed but revenge of the hunted with first strike can do a lot for you even if you do not miracle it. also, add 2 hounds of grislebrand and you've got an aggro deck that doubble as deffensive because of your first strike.
Thanks for everyone i learned lots of things on the discussion to re-do my green dominant rg aggro into
a fast red dominant rg aggro burn
i have loved to have bonfire of the damned... its just too damn expensive
green dominant rg aggro
red dominant rg aggro burn
the deck is alright but from what i can tell this deck is meant to be aggro otherwise u wouldnt have rancor or revenge of the hunted. with that being said i dont think the deck is constructed very well. please dont take offense im only trying to help. in an aggro deck, the last thing u want is more noncreature spells than creature spells. my suggestion is that u drop chandra altogether, replace the savagries with 2 more revenges, and replace the pillars with searing spears and move the pillars to side board. pillars are good but only to a certain extent. if u are going against selesnya aggro, pillars will get u nowhere. to be honest i would only play pillars MB if i only went against g/b zombies or rakdos aggro. i am actually running r/g myself. here is my deck. also the stomping grounds are in the list because ive got them pre-ordered for gatecrash.http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=401193
Maybe sideboard in some Dryad Militant for Snapcaster decks?
Would you please take a minute and check out my Casual Affliction deck? I'm trying to make mono-black discard work for me, but cheaply! Thanks!
This looks nasty.
If you get a chance, I 'm always looking for criticism and suggestions my newest idea. U/W/G Control Mill.
hey allen walker check out my r/g dragon ramp and power jund decks and let me know what u think of them. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=412778
