Deck Description

i like discard

How to Play

turn 1 bloodsoaked champ
2 hellspark elemental swing 5
3 cast avatar of discord and discard demigod of revenge
4 cast lightning bolt and unearth the hellspark, swing all and deal a potential of 13
5 cast demigod of revenge and bring the one from the grave into the battlefield
6 cast whip of erebos and swing 17 damage with lifelink and three potential fliers

try and discard your bloodsoaked champions and your demigods as much as possible whist using faithless looting to burn through cards you dont need at the time and unearth them later. i have a lot of sources of grave return so if your out of creatures use the whips effect or torrent of souls to nab your demigods whilest you still have the option of using the pleathera of unearth power in the deck swinging for tons of damage next turn!

comments and suggestions are welcome!!!

took in sideboard suggestions and added enchantment destruction and hand control hope you all like it :D

Awesome deck, but I'd add some dual lands.
Cards like Dragonskull Summit or even Guildgates are always handy.

Guild gates are horrible, never play them. use the new duals from Khans over gates.

Oh yeah you got those too.
Don't forget Akoum Refuge and Temple of Malice.

Is it possible to get you to consider utilizing Manaforge Cinder for Mana Filtering to ensure Mana Consistency/Flexibilty?
I personally use them with Dark Ritual, they pretty much make it so that Dark Ritual is virtually 3 Red Mana as well.
Opens up a whole new world of options into Red that typically get overlooked.
Ideally, I could play Swamp Turn 1, Dark Ritual, 3 Black Mana to pool.
Pay 1, cast Manaforge Cinder, pay to activate it's ability, Convert remaining 2 Black Mana into 2 Red Mana, cast 2 Akroan Crusaders.
Cast Crowd's Favor x2 via Convoke on the Akroan Crusaders, get 2 1/1 Red Soldiers with Haste on the Battlefield.
Attack with 2 1/1.
You now have 4 creatures on the field, turn one, and have already done 2 damage.

Nice trick, man.
If you cast Pyretic Ritual instead of Akroan Crusaders, you can then cast Geosurge, which gives you enough mana to cast other creature spells. I personally use annihilator so I make them sacrifice lands. That leaves them pretty much defenseless for the rest of the game.

Easy upgrade for competitive viability- Liliana of the Veil, Carrion Feeder, Cabal Therapy and/or Thoughtseize, Lotleth Troll or Tidehollow Sculler, Smallpox?

I don't like Gravecrawler in here since you only have 3 other zombies it will rarely come back making it a mediocre 1 drop. (In this deck) Bloodsoaked Champion would be a better choice, Goblin Guide would be the best choice and Monastery Swiftspear would be worth considering but I believe Goblin Guide would be best.

I agree. I thought at first that avatar and demi were zombies........only to find out they weren't.

Needs either dual lands searchlands or colorless searchlands. Whatever floats your boat,

Bloodghast would also be good here

If you are featuring creatures that die frequently you might want to consider the following two cards: blade of the bloodchief and pawn of ulamog.

BoB grants a +1/+1 token to the creature it attached to any time a creature dies.

PoU gives you an eldrazi spawn everytime a non-token creature dies.

Why not add Endless whispers? Keep those dead guys coming back.

I made a deck similar to this one. Couple of things for consideration: Run Bloodstained Mires and Blood Crypts. Enchantments (Leyline of the Void, Rest in Peace) will mess up your deck pretty good. Consider splashing some green for golgari charm or something of the like. Also try fiery Temper and Brain Gorgers. The madness mechanic is fun with decks like these.

You have to discard 2 cards with the Avatar of Discord!

0
Posted 16 December 2014 at 03:03

yeah, you discard a creature with unearth, or demigod of revenge with it.

0
Posted 16 December 2014 at 03:09

you have to do both.

2 cards. u only said demigod of revenge in the text

0
Posted 16 December 2014 at 03:14

yes... I wasn't stating that you only had to do one... just that they are both viable and useful targets for that ability.

annnnnnddd not my deck.

also, the description simply states what needs to happen for you to do well. not that you are only discarding a single card. the other card isn't relevant is all... unless it is another Demigod.

wrong colors...?
but yeah, I guess that would work with the discard...

0

yeah discard them from your own hand and possibly get 2 free 4/4?? ill take it

0
Posted 17 December 2014 at 23:44

again it is the wrong colors. if you have to rely on that to put out a single card, then it shouldn't be in the deck. a free 4/4 IS nice. but what would you swap for it? and if you have no Avatar of Dischord or faithless looting in your hand... it is a completely dead draw.

0

It won't work...Smiter's wording is if an opponent would make you discard, not yourself.

0

Think about putting in some Gray Merchant of Asphodel and maybe Lightning Axe for extra discard.

0
Posted 18 December 2014 at 05:12

I agree with both. Lightning axe would be better discard than avatar of discord as I think you might burn yourself out too fast and don't need to with looting. Discord also just dies to bolt/decay and you're out 3 cards then even though you have grave yard tricks you don't want all your cards in your yard.

IMO Seems there are lots of ways to make this run a little better. 1st of them being fixing the lands (as well as if green is your entire sb just main some) bloodstaind mire, shock lands (this allows you no need for manaforge cinder opening 2 slots) then you can run abrupt decay rather than terminates. Bloodghast seems strictly better than bloodsoaked (other than turn 1 and you'd rather loot there anyway) as then it isn't requiring mana. Whip also seems a bit too expensive here for what it will do for you. Like RolledAOne said gray merchant will be very strong here and can replace your life gain as well as add a couple zombies then you could cut your blood artist and run your gravecrawler (replacing your 1 drops) zombie package with maybe a couple tymaret's (replacing your two drops like blood artist and giving you mana sink when needed) to back it up too.

Yes this would thow off your dream hand/plays in your discription but would most likely give you more stability and lower/utilize your mana uses.

Maybe "smother" in the sideboard in case for manlands?

0

Why Manaforge Cinder? Also u might try bloodstained Mires instead of terramorphic expanse.

I'd add another faithless looting for 1x anthem of rakdos. I see the synergy with your deck, but a late game top deck of the second copy would hurt. Card advantage is great late game, and besides digging deeper, the dumping of your creatures is great synergy by itself.

So crypt ghast needs to be added to this deck. The combo with manaforge cinder is amazing, instead of just adding an extra one black mana you'd get an extra 6 if you throw it threw manaforge before using it and it would only cost 2 land for 7 usable mana, that's a bit OP right there

ashenmoore liege to pump your demigods to 7/6.
Maybe shambling remains, its not a flyer, it can' t block, but the unearth is cheap and you dont have to sacrifice it., plus, a 4,3 for 3 aint bad

Flamewake Phoenix from the new set could be a nice addition especially with Faithless Looting as discard tool
