Deck Description

This a deck challenge I came across recently:
http://www.mtgvault.com/ajaxsawdy2/decks/i-want-help-with-his-deck-plz/#602003

The basic idea is to give your creatures hexproof and making them uncounterable, but keeping to Mono-Green.

To this end, I am using various cards that give said effects/abilities or have them built in. Due to the high mana cost of certain cards I decided to go with the following combo:

Arbor Elf and Utopia Sprawl.

I have also thought of cards that can help control the game such as Beast Within or Appetite. Gravity Well is also important should my opponent only have flying creatures in play.

Feel free to comment, sideboard needs more work.

Deck discussion for Mean and Green

If you want to get a second mana when using Arbor Elf with some enchanted wood then you would have to take something like Utopia Sprawl/ Fertile Ground/ Overgrowth. When you enchant a Forest with Abundant Growth the you get a Forest that would look like this:
{T}: Add {G} To your mana pool.
{T}: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.
You can't activate both abilitys so you either get 1 {G} mana OR one mana of any colour you wish.

I also would put Gravity Well into the sideboard because you simply don't encounter dangerous creatures with flying each and every game.

Greetings
Muktol

Tbh I wanted the Abundant Growth for the extra card draw, but in reality you're right about the effect.

Arbor Elf + Utopia Sprawl can result in 4 mana on turn two, and six on turn three. I use this in my Ponza deck to great effect :P

While those are the only (Modern legal) one drops that do their respective jobs (to my knowledge), the best two mana options are Fertile Ground and Voyaging Satyr.

There are other ramp options, like land search cards. A personal favourite is Search for Tomorrow, but I can also see a one or two Recross the Paths working as you have a high chance of winning the clash. Because you're mono green, Nissa's Pilgrimage is another great option.

Speaking of Nissa, have you thought about adding Planeswalkers? Nissa, Sage Animist (Nissa, Vastwood Seer transformed) is a great draw engine. And Garruk Wildspeaker's [+1] works awesomely with lands that tap for multiple mana, like a land enchanted with Utopia Sprawl.
