EDH - Gwafa's Gambit

An EDH deck designed to play in multiplayer, preferably in a play group with some grudges or a game with some degree of politics. The deck is effectively designed to have particular opponents make choices, which benefit you in any event, but often do not benefit other opponents. The aim is to play opponents off against each other.

Naturally in Blue-White, it would be remiss not to add some staple control cards for those tight situations (Humility, for example).

Basic Mantra:
Your first and best line of defence in this deck is you, the player, and your ability to talk yourself out of being painted the target.

Golden Rules:

1. Never play anything that puts you ahead of the player currently in front / winning. You do not want to draw attention to yourself.

2. Never antagonise any player too often. They will just turn on you.

3. Always bargain with players when they consider attacking you. Mostly they can be persuaded to attack another player who poses more of a threat, sleighted them earlier in the game.

4. Always negotiate with players who need threats removed. Most players will be open to making choices in your favour (eg. off Intuition, or Epiphany at the Drownyard)

5. Always be quick to point out that your card drawing engines are non-threatening because there's nothing independently threatening in the deck to draw into.


The deck plays quite variably, depending on the speed and dynamic of the game. The deck fares decently in games which last longer, but in faster games, requires you to talk yourself out of being the first target to get picked off.

Notably this deck is NOT group hug, and relies far more on your ability to convince players to trust you with removal for threats, than it does on carte blanche cards to help players.
