{2}{B}{B}, {T}: Return target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield. It gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step. If it would leave the battlefield, exile it instead of putting it anywhere else. Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery.

If my creature has protection from black, due to the casting cost nature of this artifact, will my creature not benefit from lifelink?

Protection only works if it "targets" that creature. Since this is all creatures you controll, it will get lifelink. Same reason why protection doesn't work if the card says "targe player sacrafices a creature" or wrath: " destroy all creatures".

Target and damage so yes it would still be be affected by whip.

if a creature has an effect that takes place when it dies will it take effect then die? im thinking the action of dying has to take place in order for it to be set to the graveyard or to exile here. like scuttling doom engine.
