This is a variant of burn that also has a focus on your own life total. While pure burn is solely concerned with beating face as quickly as possible, this soulburn variant will bolster your own life total at the same time. It is designed to match the offensive capabilities of a burn deck while maintaining a high enough defense to keep yourself alive.The cornerstone of this deck is the new Fate Reforged card Soulfire Grand Master, although this deck functions quite easily without it on the battlefield. With Soulfire under your command, it is quite easy to gain insane amounts of life while consistently dealing damage to your opponent.
Since all of the burn is at instant speed, i usually wait until my opponent's EOT to deal a lot of the damage. I will usually lay down my support creatures first, then take more of an aggro-control route, burning out whatever creatures need to die, countering the spells that i absolutely cannot let through, and beating face with my creatures and whatever is left over.
