Deck Description

This is a compilation of several methods to ensure a Hedron Alignment activation.

How to Play

There are multiple ways to activate the combo. It's made much easier by Leyline of Anticipation making all the parts instant speed, so you can drop it at the end of your opponents turn, activating the win condition immediately. The activation paths take a bit of mana, anywhere from 6 to 8 mana, so you'll want to get lots of mana generators out. There's a bunch of artifact mana ramp for exactly that purpose.

6 mana (2 blue):
- Cast Intuition to find 3 copies of Hedron Alignment
- Cast Hedron Alignment
- Discard Faerie Macabre to exile one of the Hedron Alignments put in your graveyard by Intuition
- If you're lucky enough to have the fourth Hedron Alignment in your hand, you win at upkeep, if not, you'll need to get one.

8 mana (3 black, 2 blue):
- Cast Gitaxian Probe (paying with life, unless you have extra mana)
- In response, cast Doomsday, arranging the top of the library as: Predict, 3x Hedron Alignment, then anything BUT Hedron Alignment so there's one in the exiled group
- If you have Lion's Eye Diamonds, now is an excellent time to use them!
- Probe activates, drawing Predict
- Cast Predict, naming Hedron Alignment
- Cast one of the freshly drawn Hedron Alignments
- Wait for your next upkeep phase

Other helpful things:
- Thought Scour helps get Hedron Alignments into your hand or graveyard, albeit a bit unpredictably.
- Serum Powder or Gemstone Caverns can get a Hedron Alignment into exile before the game starts. This doesn't work as well with arranging the Hedron Alignment set with Predict though as two may end up in the graveyard with no way to bring the second back.
- Ancient Tomb accelerates the longer term mana curve slightly, but Mana Crypt, Lotus Petal, Mox Opal and Dark Ritual are much more helpful for generating a quick burst of mana to drop everything at once.

Optional (and much more expensive!) replacements:
- Lion's Eye Diamond is a great choice to activate right after Doomsday and before Gitaxian Probe resolves, when you no longer care about what is left in your hand. Getting 3 free mana with no downside hugely accelerates the deck. It's an excellent replacement for Lotus Petal or Serum Powder (though Serum Powder can be great for shrinking your deck while getting a Hedron Alignment into exile early).
- City of Traitors is a good choice if you need to inject some extra land for more repeatable mana
