Deck Description

Grave Times was built after Golgari turned out to be rather effective in Standard. In fact, I lost EVERY SINGLE TIME I went up against it. So, what better way to defeat Golgari then with its own colours?
This deck is very simple. Get big creatures fast. While perhaps not as consistant as I would like, it normally gives me at least 2/3 games.

How to Play

Ok, I'll only be going over the card outlooks here just to give you guys and gals a brief intro into how this deck works.
First, let's look at the deck's main fatties: Ghoultree is a 10/10 for 8CMC. Pretty good all round. But it get's better. For every creature in your graveyard, he costs one less to cast. That can potentially mean a 10/10 for just one green mana. Very nice.
Next we have Boneyard Wurm. This guy drops for two and gets +1/+1 for each creature in your graveyard. He is a great late-game card as your opponent will rarely have enough removal by then to deal with it.
Moving on to the deck's one-drop creatures: These guys all have their uses. Arbor goes for green by recycling a Forest, Typhoid makes for a really nasty blocker and Slitherhead can power up a creature from beyond the grave.
Then we have the mana intensive Disciple of Bolas and Vampire Nighthawk. These guys are included with a single purpose in mind: Gain lots of life. As a flyer, Nighthawk for your life total back to manageable levels thanks to lifelink. Disciple of Bolas can help draw the right cards for Boneyard (to be discarded at end of turn) simply by sacrificing a tapped creature affected by one of your power spells. She also gives you a nice amount of life for the sacrifice. Not a bad deal, then.
That's it for creatures.

Now, let's consider the Spells in this deck:
First, we have Giant Growth and Wild Hunger. These two let you turn a measly 1/1 into a force to be reckoned with or can run right over your opponent's blockers, leaving them bleeding out next to you (not literally of course; that would just be mean.) Murder let's you deal with annoying threats common nowadays such as Elderscale Wurm or the ever-present Boros Reckoner (amazing combo right there, by the way Check it out.) Finally, we have Mulch. Not only does this sorcery provide you with a nice source of mana for later use, but it also has a very useful deck-thinning device which allows you to send the ccreatures you don't need from its effect to the Grave. Such a plan would power up Boneyard or let you Ghoultree more effectively. That concluse spell.

Then all that's left is the land... It's land, mostly of the Dual Variety. Land is used to cast spells and creature. It adds a bit of colour to the otherwise grey game. Need I say more? Oh, yeah. I actually have the Woodland Cemetaries. I picked up a playset for $60 AU, or roughly $65 US at the time. That was my best buy ever.

And that's it. Tell me what you think about the deck and feel free to improve it as you see fit. I hope you like and I'll see you guys again soon.
