Saw a crazy way to cheat Tentacruel into play regularly on turn 3. Decided to include a transformative sideboard to counteract any hate coming in.
The idea is to have at least a Surgical Extraction, a Shelldock Isle, and an untapped blue source in hand while on the draw:T1: Don't play a land, then discard to hand size by discarding a Shadowborn Apostle. Extract all copies of the Apostle from your deck, leaving the ones in hand for in case you need to drop chump blockers.T2: Play Shelldock Isle and exile a Tentacruel to it.T3: Play the untapped blue source and activate Shelldock Isle.Serum Powder gives "free" mulligans. Can also help cast Tentacruel if forced into a grindy match of playing apostles to chump block.Rune-Scarred Demon can be tutored up with the Apostles' ability to fetch whatever you want / need. Also, if you don't see a Tentacruel on Shelldock Isle's ability, you can put the Demon on instead and tutor up another Shelldock Isle.Extra Surgical Etractions can be used to further thin the deck to increase Shelldock Isle's ability to hit something good.The Transformative sideboard:-4 Surgical Extraction-4 Tentacruel-4 Serum Powder+5 Swamp+3 Thrumming Stone+3 Immortal Servitude+2 Obelisk of UrdThe higher land count is because our new idea is to actually play our Shadowborn Apostles.Thrumming Stone puts out all / almost all you Apostles out in one turn.Immortal Servitude brings back all dead Apostles to the battlefield for 4 mana.Obelisk of Urd Boosts all the Apostles.
