Deck Description

Cruel Reality is a cool card, but the biggest problem is it's mana cost. While I could get it out much easier in Modern and / or with at least one more colour, I decided to see if I could get it to work in Standard and mono black. And in case I could get it to be viable for at least FNM play, I decided to keep it safe from rotation.

How to Play

Use artifacts to ramp into the more expensive cards, which will hopefully get you towards winning the game. Removal to get rid of most of what could kill you before ramping high enough.

Win condition is the life loss from Cruel Reality, Torment of Scarabs, and Torment of Hailfire.

Cruel Reality and the Torments, along with Fatal Push and Bontu's Last Reckoning Should keep the board clear, encouraging the opponent to play more creatures to try finish the game. This makes Trespasser's Curse better as it not only saps the opponent's life, it heals you, keeping you in the game that little bit longer.

Deck discussion for Cruel Ramp

Hmm, how does this beat mono red? I'd also include some SB answers to control so that your big payoff cards will be safe from counter magic.
Other than that, I love it, I was thinking of MBC for standard for some time now and this looks pretty good, props!

I designed this as a non competitive, fun idea. Hopefully Ixalan has some decent options for the idea, otherwise I may have to include another colour to make it viable. Red seems like a good secondary colour both for efficient early game removal (ei burn) and to take advantage of the artifacts making Unlicensed Disintegration better.
