Deck discussion for Mono Red Storm (legacy budget)

Djinn Illuminatus might be a great card to add in this because if you replicate those spells it might not halp the storm but it help to gain more Mana out of those cards + Gitaxian Probe will give you many cards to draw for your life as price to draw mana cards which you can Replicate to use storm ;)

Djinn Illuminatus is really not a powerful legacy card, or a powerful card in general now a days, I don't think it is really what this deck is looking for; this deck is trying to rattle off as many cheap spells as possible and kill with a grapeshot or empty the warrens. Casting a large creature should never be done by this deck.

hmm seems you're right. Would only make sense if you'd play to creat a copy token army made of him by using something like Twinflame

Right, like I said that's just not the route they're going with this deck it seems. Though you can create a token army with empty the warrens with this deck. :P

Just out of curiosity (I don't play legacy but I do play modern storm) wouldn't desperate ravings be better than faithless looting (Unless you want more card discard) as faithless doesn't generate card advantage, meanwhile you can still flashback your stuff with desperate, so it wouldn't really matter what you were to discard?

Faithless looting being one mana is the main reason I use it

Not to be a downer, but I do not see any way for this deck to hit a storm count of even 10, let alone the 20 you need to kill. With just probe and mananorphose you don't have very many ways to get card advantage. You don't have pyromancers ascension to help generate extra value. No past in flames to recycle your already limited cards. You don't have burning wish to find key cards like grapeshot. You don't have LED for easy storm count and tons of mana. And in general I see this deck just straight up fizzling 80% of the time and only grapeshotting people for 7 the other 20%...

Past in flames is in the deck, LED is not a budgeted card. Actually I don't ususally have too much of a problem with the deck. This is my first take of the deck until I get burning wishes.

Use Empty the Warrens rather than Grapeshot, so you don't have to get storm 10

Pyromancer Ascension is a fantastic card in storm decks. It doubles card draws, mana producing cards, and halves the number of spells you need to play to kill someone with grapeshot.

Nope. Doesn't mean you "cast" a spell, you only copy it, difference :/. Otherwise yea, it helps a lot :).

Correct, but when you have casted X spells already then play Grapeshot, wouldn't you cast it, then it Ascension would copy it to deal 2*X damage total?

No, it says copy the spell, storm says "when you cast it", so you didn't actually cast it :'(.
