A friend of mine has been in and out of Magic, and I was looking at monoblack commander generals in class one day (because he really likes monoblack decks), and he said that it'd be interesting if I could possibly build a deck around one of the most underrated, but undoubtedly fun, generals Ob Nixilis, Unshackled. He told me that the deck would have to cost under $200, so with my budget set, I went out to look for cards that could synergize with the deck well. I knew that my friend really liked Nighthowler and had a copy of it, and it synergized with Ob in a way that it runs off of creatures in the graveyard. I added in cards that would force sacrifices upon other players, even myself, to get those +1/+1 counters rolling on Ob. There are a few problems with the deck though as I don't have a steady sacrifice source (i.e Tokens), which I will fix later on once I find a suitable replacement for a few of the cards.
The deck centers around keeping Ob Nixilis, Unshackled at a very high P/T while also decimating his enemies and keeping his allies in his graveyard. Utility cards such as 'Unmake the Graves' make it possible that more creatures can be put to the graveyard through the use of cards like 'Barter in Blood', which cause all players to sac 2 creatures. That sac 2 means that Ob gets AT LEAST a couple of +1/+1 counters, and in multiplayer set-ups, just watch the counters pile up. This deck is purely experimental and I have very little speculation on a consistent win ratio. It's definitely fun to play and I have made a proxy deck of it to play around with against my creatureless Keranos EDH deck, it performs very well with a winrate of about 45%, but that's against a deck that I've hard-tested even against tough adversaries such as Animar. Enjoy playing this game and remember to play your board smart.
