Deck Description

Master biomancer is such an awesome card with excellent flavor, and I reeeally want to make him work in competitive standard.

Edit: moved zegana, wolfir, and rancor to the sideboard to make room for the nightshade staticaster combo.

How to Play

Ramp into a turn 3 master biomancer, and go one of two directions. 1. Rancor on biomancer, drop a huntmaster for two 6/6s. 2. Five drop (thrag or silverheart) into a giant prime speaker zegana to draw all of the cards. Against creature based decks, nightshade staticasters are excellent. Kinda pointless against control, when I add rancor, wolfir silverheart, and zegana instead for game two. I've considered running experiment one, domri rade, yeva, and pit fight, but couldnt fit them in. What do you guys think? Should I?

Deck discussion for RUG Biomancy

looks nice. consider replacing the spiders with gruul charms. the only way to do more damage to fliers with the spider would be to spend at least 6 mana which leaves u with no other play for the turn. also the gruul charm does a lot more. the 2nd ability wont be used often but the 1st and 3rd abilities are pretty good.

I wanted to fit the charms in, but I'm reluctant to take out the spiders. They are one of the best answers to thundermaw, after all

Could you explain your sideboard choices? I'm currently messing with a RUG build for standard myself. . . But, I can't seem to get my sideboard straightened out.

Here's my RUG build:

Sure thing. :) I use tormods crypt against reanimator. If people can reanimate peddler snd staticaster, I cant really win. Silklash spider blocks thundermaw hellkite, and gets rid of lingering souls tokens easily. Naturalize is always a useful sideboard card against anything with enchantments. Blind obedience, intangible virtue, etc. Rapid hybridization is good bomb removal, and saves my creatures from removal in a sense. Clan defiance is always good, and sometimes I need it more than wolfir silverheart. Pillar is just good against aggro, zombies, and reanimator. Sideboard is still a work in progress, but its good enough so far :) ill go check out your build

That'll be hard to do, I saw your gruul deck already, seemed really fast. Thank you though!
