If you should lose the game through fatal damage while these two creatures are on the field, Exquisite Archangel will restore you to 20 (this is considered by the rules to be life gain) and Defiant Bloodlord will cause your opponent to lose a corresponding amount (often lethal).Outside of this combo the deck focuses on controlling your opponent as well as ramping towards your large and expensive creatures.
This decks removal package is self explanatory and is a collection of some of the best removal these colours have to offer.Inspiring Statuary is the main ramp engine of the deck and results in choices such as Prophetic Prism, Renegade Map and Thraben Inspector to create artifacts that help us Improvise. Painful Truths provides us with draw and epitomises and important aspect of this deck, we don't mind taking damage. As soon as our combo is online our opponent is unlikely to try and kill us and the damage we take from our own spells could allow us to win through this.Plan B is definitely to beat down with large flyers and Defiant Bloodlord synergises well with the life-gain present in the deck and a lone Exquisite Archangel can save us from death while we assemble the comboOur enemies with this deck are opponents who can win outside of dealing lethal damage, time will tell whether Mechanized Production and Hedron Alignment become serious threats however Lost Legacy is there to improve those match-ups
