Deck Description

Holy shit, magic is ruined. That's it, game over everyone. Lost in the woods is so broken. Basically, mulligan until you draw lost in the woods, play it, then wait until your opponent mill's themselves.
I saw this at my local gaming shop, the shop owner showed us this deck just to prove a point. What a genius, anyway I decided to put the idea out there and see what you guys have to say about it =)

Deck discussion for Best deck eva!!!

That's ... well, that's something.

Maybe 4 lost in the woods and less forests? More chance to pull one. You've got no wincon- force them to draw out?

If I have 4 lost in the woods then theres not a guaranteed chance of the top card of my library being a forest.

um.... if your opponent plays burn or mill your pretty well screwed... and even in aggro, theres a decent chance your opponent will kill you in the 5 turns that it takes to play lost in the woods since you cant do anything to defend yourself

Who plays mill these days anyway? And besides, the chances of me drawing lost in the woods after I mulligan down to one card are actually pretty high, as soon as I play it, game over.

there are more ways to deal damage to you without using monster's to attack. u go up a red deck you'll take instant damage, but if you go up against a deck that gets rid of spells and enchanchtments then your screwed.

Any deck that goes non-creature, has counter-spells, or puts enchantment destruction in kills this deck. Sure it's a good deck to poke fun at others nerves with, but it's not unbeatable, per-say.

This deck is just to troll people. It's so funny when you play lost in the woods and they realise what just happened. Sure it's not a compeditive deck by any means, but it's funy as hell. I made this deck just to prove a point =)

This has got to be one of the coolest/cost effective decks in standard!! Sure it has a few flaws (like no stormcrow lol) and sure, it wont put up much of a fight against burn/mill decks but there are alot of creature based decks floating around at the moment and losing to a deck like this would be the equivilant of being kicked in the nutz.

ok so go down to 60 forests, even then its less then 50% chance that you get lost in the woods with all the mulligans, but you still have more cards than they do for milling purpose

2. with no blue mana how would you get any Storm Crows out?
3. I have Aggro Decks that would beat this deck by the 4th turn (even if they're not "Standard")

My friend made a deck where it skipped your turn a lot, and he took over 10 turns in a row, so I say his deck was WAY more broken than this. Plus, I mainly use a mill deck that can win in 10 or less minutes, so I don't think you would be able to win, especially if the one Lost in the Woods you do have is milled from the deck. Then you are left with Forests and 4 1/1s that wouldn't be able to do anything to my mill. Plus, my mill deck doesn't entirely need to attack to deck you out. So, good luck.
Note: SIdeboard is too large. It can only be 15 cards.

0

I can't lie, the deck is a great anti meta deck, but it could use some work to be more consistent, such as using three more Lost in the Woods.

0
Posted 21 March 2012 at 16:39

The reason I'm not adding 3 more lost in the woods is because that does not guarantee the top card of my library being a forest.

I'm not trying to troll this site at all, I hate it when people try and troll this site. I didn't actually want this to hit front page, it just happened because everyone kept commenting on it. I just wanted post an idea, nothing more. The reson this hit front page was because people kept saying that this deck sucks. Of course this deck can be beaten!!! Don't you think I know that? I'm sick and tired of people taking things so seriously, it's not as if anyone would actaully use this deck in tournaments, I just wanted to post an idea that I saw at a gaming shop, and to see what people have to say about it. If people don't want decks like this to hit front page because they think it sucks, then don't comment on this deck to say it sucks in the first place - that just gives me 3 more likes.

The last deck on this From the Lab article is about utilizing Lost in the Woods. Your deck will lose to so many decks that will kill you b4 turn 5, when you can play your enchantment. The Arbors would help chump block, but still, one good naturalize or a bunch of burn spells and youre toast.

Its such a trolly deck, but a stubborn opponent will eventually win if they dont concede and force you to draw your library down to 0 and win. If they go first (which you should want so you can start drawing and playing forests to cast LitW) and make you draw first, you will run out of cards first.

lost in the woods is awesome in limited i played a deck like this one with 40 forest and 1 lost in the woods as a sideboard option if i didn't like the match up with my primary deck. This only works in limited or draft beacuse in these formats almost always victory comes from beatings with creatures as no one can get enough burn or mill cards and beacuse generally in limited no one runs enchantment destruction

What do you plan to do for the first 4 turns? You can't get Lost in the Woods out right away. And what's your plan for cards that inflict direct damage without creatures? Or decks with other win conditions? This deck doesn't stand any sort of a chance against a mill deck, a burn deck, or any deck that can destroy you before you get lost in the woods out. Most decks have SOME burn cards in them, or at least something that can destroy ONE enchantment. Your win condition (forcing them to draw out) is going to let them go through every card in their deck, so chances are they'll find something to defeat you.

I've actually spent some time making a deck around Lost in the Woods.

You have to remember that this ability stacks because it triggers twice. If you have 2 lost in the woods out, you draw 2 cards for every attacking creature. If one of them is a forest, it gets taken out of combat.

I honestly feel as though my deck has some consistency and legitimacy, so please feel free to check it out and criticize.
