Deck Description

Wanted a cheap mono white deck that could annoy my opponent.

How can I make my opponent be on the defense even though I am playing white?

By gaining life.
By destroying his combos.
By exiling his creatures/artifacts/enchantments.

25 dollar casual deck.
Hope you enjoy.

How to Play

Step 1. Gain life.
Hallow, Martyr of Sands, and Nyx-Fleece Ram.

Step 2. Nuke his creatures/enchantments/artifacts
Leonin Relic-Warder, Banisher Priest, and Oblivion Ring.

Step 3. Gain tempo with damage prevention and draw power.
Dawn Charm, Comeuppance, and Mentor of the Meek (20 creatures let you draw cards).

Step 4. Slowly deal damage to my opponent.
Gerrard's Battle Cry and Brave the Elements.

Deck discussion for "You're Breaking My Balls"

Well, it would certainly be an annoying deck to fight against, but it lacks any real hard win condition. Really, your option of victory is to exile everything they have that deals damage, or to just smack them to death. Which, I suppose is sufficient. Hopefully they dont run any decent hexproof creatures! D:

GG!

I am thinking I can reduce the creature count by removing either Banisher Priest or Fiend Hunter.

The main idea is this:
I have 8 creatures that come into play and exile another creature.
I have only 4 creatures that come into play and exile an artifact/enchantment.
So...if I take out Priest or Hunter...it will leave me at:
4 creatures that remove another creature and 4 creatures that remove artifact/enchantments.
That would love me room for 4 Angels.

Maybe Archon of Justice?
4/4 flyer provides beat down.
Crusade makes it a 5/5.

Plus it keeps with the theme of removing permanents.
It would leave me looking like this
4 Banisher Priest (creature removal)
4 Leonin Relic-Warder (artifact/enchantment removal)
4 Archon of Justice ( creature/artifact/enchantment/land removal)
3 Oblivion Ring (creature/artifact/enchantment removal)
___________________________________________________________________
11 creature removals and 11 artifact/enchantment removals
pretty nice balance

Add that removal on top of the lifegain and damage prevention...and I won't win a lot of games...but I will make my opponent earn their win.

Does not seem like a bad idea at all. Though I have noticed you have issues triggering Mentor of the Meek. Someone else has mentioned that as well, so, don't know how worth-while it is to keep that instead of maybe going for something a little more useful?

Suggested Critters:

Weathered Wayfarer:
- 1 CMC (White)
- 1/1
- Stops you from falling behind in mana

Herald of Anafenza:
- 1 CMC (White)
- 1/2
- Can Outlast for 3 mana
- Outlast creates 1/1 tokens

Student of Warfare:
- 1 CMC (White)
- Has level up for 1 White mana
- 2-6 is 3/3 with First Strike
- 7+ is 4/4 with double strike

Any of them could be useful in either sideboard or mainboard if you wanted some utility or creatures you can use to fight off creatures you couldn't get exiled without risking your removal creatures while also triggering Mentor of the Meek. Student of Warefare is particularly nice. a 3/3 first strike for 2 can be handy.

Speaking of fighting off creatures, kor chant can turn an opposing removal spell into a problematic creature an opponent controls off the battlefield.

serra angel is always good and gather the townsfolk would be good it will activate the mentor twice 5 times if you have 5 or less life

will your creatures trigger mentor before they get the buff from crusade? otherwise crusade might ruin mentor for you

That is a damn good question. I would assume it is based on the power that they enter play with...not what their ultimate power is after they are cast. Not sure though. I suck with rules.

Using Nyx over the Soul Sisters.

I added the 4/4 angel. It was sadly missing a beat down creature. So there is that.

I wish I could play EDH...but have no one to play against.
Have not looked at that one...but did +1 your Golf deck.

i believe the anthem affect causes the creature to resolve with the bonus, hence it will enter and not trigger the mentor if its a 2/2 in your hand.

Changed it around.
Played 2 games so far, won them, and the pump seems like a wasted card (Gerrard's Battle Cry).

Take out Crusade and it's not as terrible in Modern as it is in Legacy. Honor of the Pure is a lot better anyways.

Lol.
Thank you Possum.
I would rather have a crappy Modern deck over a super crappy Legacy deck.
And Honor of the Pure not pumping up your opponent's creatures does make it a better card.

* Unfortunately, Honor the Pure will make 2/2s come into play as 3/3s and thus prevent Mentor from triggering. It may have worked way in the past but it won't now:
"9/22/2011: Apply power bonuses from counters the creature enters the battlefield with and continuous effects like Mayor of Avabruck's when checking to see if Mentor of the Meek's ability will trigger."

* You could remedy the problem above by replacing Honor the Pure with something like Crescendo of War because then the creatures will only be bigger during combat. Gerrard's Battle Cry is also possible.

* Mangara of Corondor would fit the theme but is maybe too expensive money wise? I don't know where you Northy-limit is.

* Ethereal Haze is okay, but consider some alternatives:
- Dawn Charm: More options than just Fog and you'll want all three of them.
- Angelsong: In case you don't need a Fog you can cycle it.
- Riot Control: Costs more but adds lifegain
- Comeuppance may cost four but is all you ever wanted for this deck, it can win the game alone for you!
(Comeuppance could also replace Hallow)

The fact that no one is liking this deck is breaking my balls.

Cathar's Crusade cost five, but has the potential to make your army MASSIVE especially once you start rolling with a mentor of the meek.

Also, im not sure how the rulings still work but you if your exile creatures use a delayed trigger then run cloudshift and keep breaking balls.

Not legal in Modern due to Comeuppance and Gerrard's Battle Cry. It's a cheap mono white legacy deck.

Thanks. I fixed it.
The deck was Modern before I put Comeuppance and Battle Cry in the deck.
Forgot to change the deck description.
