Deck discussion for The Pirates of Dark Water

I think it was actually called pirates of the dark sea.
Did you know that magic stole the entire storyline of this when they made the weather light saga?

Flowstone is representing the dark sea.
We got a piratey crew that chases down artifacts all over the sea, chosen by evil goblinoid pirates (mogg, greven I'll vec)

Theres a comical sidekick (monkeybird/squee)

The heroes have a flying ship. (The weatherlight)

And on and on and on...

Each crewmember has their equivalent in the series.
The barbarian is tangarth, gerard and sisay are the lead characters. (With gerard searching for his artifact legacy)

I'm new to Magic. What do you mean? Are there Weatherlight books or something I can read? How did they "steal" the cartoon: "Pirates of Dark Water"?

There are books out there to read, as well as a lot of magic wikipedia where you can read the stuff.
The similarities between the plot of the weather light saga and the plot of pirates of the dark sea are much to similar for it to be a coincidence.

Back in magic history the weather light saga was the first real cycle storyline.

Back then wizards also got bought by tsr, and I would be surprised if pirates of the dark water does not tie onto tsr at that time. If they had the rights for the story, then stealing is maybe a harsh word, but in general the whole weather light sage is loosely covered up so the similarities are not too open.

Back then magic had the need of a fantasy universe to supply the players who were more into a good story than hardcore gaming, and since tsr was behind the wheels at that time they might have gathered up an old team to supply the storyline magic needed.

That team could have been behind dark waters too or might have been heavily inspired.

Read up the storyline of the weather light saga and then read the plot for dark waters at another wiki. If you don't find glowstone to be a copy of dark water, then I can't help you :)
