The Budget / Starter series is to help people to who are either new to the Magic: The Gathering, or simply those who can not afford to spend a lot of money on booster packs or individual cards. It can be of help to beginners or experts alike.

How to Play

Artifacts!

The main point of this deck is to focus are your artifacts. Artifacts have been in Magic: The Gathering since the very beginning, and have received a lot of support over the years. In the Scars of Mirrodin block, artifacts received tons of support, and now those cards are here to help. Most people think of Blue as the main color for artifact decks; however, Red is also very deadly.

Get out your early-game artifacts, like Dragon's Claw and Iron Myr, out first, as they will help you get life and mana very quickly. Darksteel Citadel and Ornithopter are artifacts that cost nothing. Darksteel Citadel is an artifact land, so you'll be receiving mana and artifact bonuses, while the Ornithopter is a 0 converted mana cost artifact that provides you with early game defense. Embersmith will help you damage your opponent slowly anytime you play an artifact. When the time comes, strike your opponent with either Moltensteel Dragon or Hellkite Igniter, both very powerful dragons.

Key Cards to this deck:
Iron Myr: Cheap artifact creature that can provide you with Red mana.
Embersmith: Helps burn a creature or player anytime you play an artifact.
Darksteel Citadel: Both a land and an artifact. Who wouldn't want this?
Moltensteel Dragon / Hellkite Igniter: Powerful dragons that can easily boost their power quickly at low mana costs.
Galvanic Blast: Cheap burn that benefits from having a lot of artifacts in play.
