Deck Description

[Inspired by NorthernWarlord's Budget Series]

Are you new to Magic: The Gathering? Is your collection of cards lacking? Do you need a new deck for your game night with your friends? Well look no further than here!

Slivers sure do synergize well with each other! With the power of the Sliver's hive mind in your grasp, you'll be sure to cause your opponent some trouble. This Sliver deck focuses on a somewhat Control level with cards like Diffusion Sliver and Constricting Sliver. If you're having trouble with your opponent, but don't have the Slivers you need, try slowing down your opponent with Negate or Arrest!

The Budget / Starter series is to help people to who are either new to the Magic: The Gathering, or simply those who can not afford to spend a lot of money on booster packs or individual cards. It can be of help to beginners or experts alike.

How to Play

Slivers!

Do you like your cards having a lot of synergy? Well, you've come to the right deck! Slivers have been around for many years, dating back to their original release in the 12th expansion of Magic: The Gathering, Tempest; however, in the 2014 Core Set, Slivers reemerged, and in this year's core set, they reappeared again! Sliver creatures are very synergetic, and generally, all Slivers have "Sliver creatures you control. . ." as their ability. Some Slivers, like Diffusion Sliver or Constricting Sliver, can cause different abilities to trigger though. There are many different kinds of Slivers to experiment with!

Most of the spells in this deck cost only about 2 mana each, so your mana situation shouldn't be too terrible. However, most Slivers are only mono-colored, so you will need different lands and mana to cast them, which is where Manaweft Sliver and Lay of the Land come in to help. When you have the land / mana you need, start hitting the field with your many different Slivers. Start off with Diffusion Sliver, as that way it will make the Slivers you control harder to remove, followed by Predatory Sliver to give your Slivers that extra boost. If you're in need of more Slivers, Hive Stirrings and the Sliver Hive land can help you. Keeping control over your opponent is key in this deck, so make sure to keep your opponent under lock down with Constricting Sliver, Negate, Essence Scatter, and Arrest while you build your army of Slivers!

Key Cards to this deck:
Manaweft Sliver: This Sliver will help you produce the mana you need exactly in order to play the Slivers you want.
Sliver Hive: A beautiful Sliver token and mana producer. This land, like Manaweft Sliver, can help you with your mana problems, should you run into them.
Diffusion Sliver: This Sliver makes sure your opponent has a hard time removing your Slivers. If they try to target your Slivers with any spells or abilities, they will literally be paying the price.
Arrest: This Aura will keep your opponent's creatures in check while you build up your army.
Urban Evolution: Not only is this a draw more cards card, but it also allows you to play an extra land on the turn you play it.

Dat synergy between creatures is awesome, like in all good sliver decks, you get a +1 from me
Your mana curve is good already and adding a few higher cost wouldn't hurt you, so I would take out steelform for megantic sliver for its better capability to buff your slivers, and being able to finish the game with more damage
Also, I would exchange the guildgates for the new dual lands from khans
