Deck Description

Budget threaten deck for Standard! Steal your opponent's creatures and convert them into value!

How to Play

Spend the early game playing lands and ramping with Hedron Crawlers. Those crawlers will pay off later when you need to cast threatens and sac-spells in the same turn.

When you have enough mana, prioritize which of your opponent's creatures you steal. Focus on the biggest threats when fighting a go-tall strategy and the most strategic targets (such as lords) when fighting a go-wide strategy. If you can help it, never threaten without a sac outlet ready to go.

Kari Zev's Expertise is great when you have a Bone Splinters, Fling, or Altar's Reap in your hand to cast for free. Hazoret's Favor, Malevolent Whispers, and Defiant Salvager make your opponent's creatures provide more value to you than them!

Don't hesitate to cycle Limits of Solidarity if you have a mediocre hand.

If your opponent isn't playing creatures, sideboard in a few. Lathnu Hellion will deal 8 damage quickly and then can be sacrificed to one of your outlets for value. Carrier thrall acts as both a body if your opponent doesn't provide, and ramp if you find yourself needing high-mana spells quicker. Demon of Dark Schemes is a powerful body and a board-wipe all in one.

By Force demolishes Vehicles, while Flaying Tendrils stops Zombies in their tracks.

Thanks for viewing! I'm always looking to improve, so please leave suggestions in the comments!

Deck discussion for A Threatening Situation

You're forgetting a strong one for the early game: Wrangle. Sure it's limited to power 4 or less, but the same mana as casting Kari Zev's Expertise, you can steal a creature and sacrifice it to Bone Splinters. And Unless you're playing against GB counters, there's a high probability of having a legal target.

I'd completely missed Wrangle! I've added it in place of Press into Service. Thanks for the suggestion!
