Deck Description

Cast and recast LD using Snappy, Narset and Dark-Dwellers. T2 Boom targeting a Flagstones, T3 or later targeting a fetch or GQ you crack with Boom on the stack. Rain on nonbasics and burn weenies.

Clear the board and drop Geist and use either Narset's -2 casting Boom and rebounding Bust or a Dark-Dweller finding Boom and casting Bust to facilitate a Modern legal Armageddon. Combine with Charm to have an Ajani like one sided affair.

If you run into something that "cheats" multiple lands into play each turn or does not care about your LD plan then go get the Nahiri/Emrakul/Path package out of the SB and Super Friend them instead.

Deck discussion for Jeskai LD project (Sold)

I like the idea. I can only think of one suggestion:
The [-2] of Jace, Telepath Unbound (Jace, Vryn's Prodigy flipped) can allow recasting of the LD cards.

I like the way you think. My only concerns are that he is so fragile in a Modern stacked with removal and that you have to pay for the card cast, (like Snappy), so no Boom//Bust trickeration from him. Definetively worth testing with though, thanks!

I think his looting will help a lot in getting your LD cards more often, you are only running 8 LD spells.

Crucible of Worlds might be worth considering. Recurring Ghost Quarter is funny :p

Geist of Saint Traft and Grim Lavamancer don't seem to quite fit the end game here. I can understand Grim Lavamancer for using what you sacrificed to Boom // Bust, etc., but Geist doesn't seem to advance / use the game plan at all.

On a side note, I see you have Nahiri, the Harbinger in your sideboard. Sticking with the LD theme, Avalanche Riders would be an interesting fetch off her [-8]. Because the fetch ability bounces the creature back to your hand at the end of turn, you can cast it again the next turn, thus destroying two lands mid - late game. Just an idea, doubt it's tournament worthy.

Actually, thinking about it now, Nahiri's [-8] can fetch Snappy and Dark-Dwellers too. With Boom // Bust or Molten Rain in the graveyard, you can get a similar effect to fetching Avalanche Riders.

I played 2 Fulminators and 2 Nahiri main in my original build and found that I could often get a commanding start but that the deck couldn't finish fast enough so I decided to plug in Geist for a faster clock. Early testing suggests I probably neeed to get the Fulminators back in to the main and possibly reduce the Geist count

. A 1 of Crucible sems like a must have as well, (can't beleive I forgot about that card), thanks! Nahiri main was good but not great without Emrakul so I think I might stick with her SB for now. That plan might change down the line as the more I play around with this deck the more avenues of play I discover.

Oh, Grim and to a lesser degree Staticaster is weenie/token hate with Grim adding a little reach, hence his place in the main. Linear aggro decks is something that has to be respected.

No Stone Rain? Quality LD, since it's the least restricting on colors.

I'd say it's a toss-up between Stone Rain at {2}{R}, or Molten Rain at {1}{R}{R}. Stone Rain is easier on the mana, but Molten Rain deals 2 damage if the land was nonbasic. I don't think there's much space for running both.

Definetively a toss-up. If I was ramping with Green then Stone Rain for sure but in here the 2 damage is really important as in Modern you don't have much time to finish them off before they stabilize and rebuild.

That's why I like Goblin Dark-Dwellers. Last night I had a great game vs WUR Delver. Turn two Moon both games, only destroying basic Plains and Islands. Game two I managed to get Bust off the goblin :P

Always fun! I had a near table flip once when after T1 = Bolt the bird, T2 = Boom, T3 = Rain I dropped Narset showing Boom//Bust on her +1. He was not at all happy with a hand full of 3 drops...
