Deck Description

The sideboard is not a sideboard but the cards I selected for this deck and eliminated them while building it.

I'm kind of a new player in magic, my first (and only so far, just done a few changes) deck was a black and white deck from battle for zendikar. Among those cards, there was the zulaport cutthroat, and I liked it and now, i tried to build a deck with cards that would have the same ability as it, however it seem that there are not many cards that can do it, so I searched for cards that could amplify / repeat it's effect and I built a deck thinking on the effect of "don't attack me or you will be screwed" and here it is.

I made this deck for casual play, however it can be used for Modern

How to Play

'Blood Artist', 'Falkenrath Noble' and 'Zulaport Cutthroat' are meant to be the core of the deck, 'Grave Pact' and 'Dictate of Erebos' tag along in this cartegory

'Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder' and 'Dark Prophecy' are meant to speed up the deck
(Make sure to never have more than 2 'Dark Prophecy' on the battlefield)

'Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker' is to allow you to display the deck strategy all the time and not give a chance of winning for your opponent after an attack.

'Brutal Hordechief' is to allow you to be aggressive and finish the opponent even if he is stuck and can't attack you

As the mana cost is high, there are 24 mana cards in the deck, which 'Orzhov Basilica' and 'Crypt Ghast' have the porpuse of gathering mana more easily with less cards. 'Isolated Chapel' and 'Orzhov Basilica' are in here for activating the 'Brutal Hordechief''s mana ability without lowering the number of black mana of the deck

Deck discussion for Stop I'll die!.or..WILL YOU?!!

Not bad. Idk if you need 4 grave pacts but hey redundancy is never a bad thing in magic yes? Have you had a chance to play test it yet?

Orzhov Basilica and the other bounce lands are really bad in a format with land destruction like Ghost Quarter. IMO they just aren't worth the risk and putting yourself back a turn by entering tapped. 4x Concealed Courtyard in it's place would be better I think other then the obvious choice of Shock and Fetch lands since they are so pricey.

I also agree with willisson7 that having 4 copies of Grave Pact as well as 3 copies of Dictate of Erebos is very redundant and you will hate drawing yet another late game if you already have one or even two in play. The same applies to Dark Prophecy. Pherexian Arena would probably be better in it's place. I think Sifter of Skulls would be a great addition in place of the enchantments.

Shirei, Shizo's Careta is a huge investment for only comboing with 2 Blood Artist and Cutthroat. As well it's just so weak an dies to everything. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed would be way better. Admittedly It is very expensive tho.

These are just my opinions and should be taken as such. Happy Casting.

Indeed decks that can destroy lands would wreck this deck as it is a high mana cost deck. 'Orzhov Basilica' really can lock your turns as they enter the battlefield tapped. However, they allow you to have mana even if the necessary number of ( individual ) mana cards don't come to your hand, this way it can help you to put the 4 and 5 coverted mana cost cards on the battlefield, that's way I decided to put them here.

Having more of 'Grave Pact' and 'Dictate of Erebos' increases the chances of drawing them, unless you have no creatures in play, I don't see a problem if you have more of them on the battlefield, by the opposite, each creature you lose would mean more creatures your opponents would lose for it. 'Dark Prophecy' would of course, be annoying if you draw more than 1 of them. However, they would allow you to draw more cards per turn than ( each ) 'Phyrexian Arena', 'Phyrexian Arena' is going to be better as you can place more than 1 of them on the battlefield without worring by drawing too much cards and allow you to draw no matter what. ( You can't forget that with this deck, the more cards you have on the field, the more stuck your opponent will be on the game, so dragging the game by several turns might not be such a bad thing... and 'Phyrexian Arena' might kill you if you can't make your creatures die, so be careful if you want to use it). Yes, Sifter of skulls and other cards that can make you put more creatures on the battlefield would be great!
Oh, 'Butcher of Malakir' could also be a good option if want to have more creatures on the battlefield

Wouldn't the Endrek Sahr's tokens also trigger Shirei's ability? ( I really don't know as tokens disapear once they 'hit' the graveyard, as I have been told. I'm kind of newbie in magic after all ) and 'Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker' is not supposed to block nothing =/
'Mikaeus, the Unhallowed' could revive everything but only once though, don't misunderstand me, it would be better and worse at the same time, depends on what is going to happen and how you play, it also require more mana to use it and can only be 1 of them on the battlefield

This are also just my opinions and our comments are not only for me and you but for eveyone who pass by here and likes this deck and want to change it to make it cheaper or better ( feel free to do so ) opinions are for everyone indeed =D
Sorry for taking such a long time to answer, hope this also count as a answer to Willisson7 D= and suck a loooong comment I wrote, wow!

Please answer my doubt about 'Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker' bringing tokens back to the battlefield!!

I searched and no, it cannot do it
Indeed, it could be changed for a more useful card

I like it. Personally, I'd probably drop the Brutal Hordechief all together and add a little more removal like Go for the throat or Ultimate price. Fatal Push would be fun in this. If your opponent says screw it and ends up killing one of your creatures, you get to return the favor haha. Also, no need for those dual lands this way. Your mana becomes even simpler.

Remove the 4 Brutal Hordechief and add either 4 Viscera Seer or 4 Nantuko Husk

Bam, there's your sac engine, and with it, things can get out of hand real fast for your opponent.
