Deck discussion for Budget EDH: Grim Dragons

Love the Dragon-Control-Terror mix for a decent price. What made you decide to go krosis?

What do you think about combo:
Zada, Hedron Grinder + Kolaghan Stormsinger/Lightning Berserker/Village Messenger (creatures with Haste) + Cryptolith Rite (mana) + Vines of the Recluse (buffs) + Expedite (draws)

I agree with him. If you cut down the combo pieces then that would be more useful. Find high efficiency cards for it.

You forgot to add a Command Tower. Oh and a Manalith would be useful too.
Maybe also a Dark Ritual and/or a Crypt Ghast for mana? Sure it's only black mana but you need lots in general.

Hey man. Youve been building great budget decks. I wish I could. After looking through my old cards, I came across Takklemaggot. This is my favorite pre-modern card, for varying reasons, like the wall of text, the uniqueness of the card, and so on. Could you make a budget deck around it please? It would be greatly appreciated.

Hey man! love the decks as always, huge fan!
looking good so far but i have a couple suggestions in the mana base for some good ramp and really underplayed lands.

- Saprazzan Skerry, Sandstone Needle, Peat Bog, Svyelunite Temple, dwarven ruins, and crystal vein are Good sources of ramp. id figure they would be nice additions since these colors aren't good at ramp, they can help clear up some artifact space and they are cheap to buy.

-Cephalid Coliseum. is another really cheap land that can help fix your card advantage late game. (for example a hand full of mana or dead cards in hand)

as for cards i would cut
- Ancient Hellkite, because of mana costs doesn't do much for your team
-Siege Dragon, once again mana costs. it also doesn't do much for your team
-Thunderbreak Regent, seems like a good idea at first but only taking three damage for targeting a creature in edh isnt much. its also kinda pricey.
-Burnished Hart, there are better artifact ramp spells
- Palladium Myr, Everflowing Chalice is better.

cards to consider:
-niv mizzet, dracogenius, he pings and he can generate card advantage
-helkite tyrant, can steal your opponents artifacts to use for yourself
-forgestoker dragon, pings creatures and causes them not to block.
-furyborn helkite . gets. fucking. huge XD
-dragonstorm cheat out huge dragons and with the lands i mentioned above its not as difficult as you'd think to cast. IT ALSO HAS STORM!!!
-hoarding dragon can help you tutor for an ARTIFACT CARD and when he dies it goes to your hand
- and finally Surveyor's Scope in multiplayer games this card is killer for ramp, can be played on the stack for sacking lands and is really underplayed.

i hope you consider my suggestions man :)

The budget won't allow much of a change, but I replaced Ancient Hellkite with Niv-Mizzet.
Thank you for the suggestions!

Seeing as so many creatures in this deck are dragons, how about replacing palladium myr with dragon speaker shaman? taking out koliagon and replacing her with shivan dragon to keep the cost down?

I mean kolagon is cool, but works better in a horde rather than a smash with big dumb guys deck, and with all the spare mana you have shivan dragon might even be ok?

Dragonspeaker Shaman is great, but it costs like hell.

Hey Northern, would you consider doing an EDH deck with Krenko, Mobb Boss or Brago, King Eternal with $75 budget? I am making decks out of both of them, but I want to get another's opinion of what a good list is first.

I was thinking about something:
The Hot Page is stale as american mainstream beer (I know you have great micro breweries, so shut up^^) and the MTGVault team hasn't done anything about the site in years. They promised to change the algorythm of the Hot Page, but they also said they'll bring the forums back "soon". Well, the forums are still down, in fact they were already down when I registered in september 2013 ...

So, what I suggest is:
If you had a deck on Hot Page and the discussion dried up, you might as well stop listing your deck as public, hence removing it from Hot Page and making room for others. I have currently 2 decks occupying precious slots on Hot Page even though nobody has replied to them in weeks. So, what I will do is make them private soon. I am asking you politely to do the same once you haven't gotten any replies for a considerable amount of time.
I will, however, list them again after some time, because otherwise they would end up in Nirvana. But until then other decks will have a shot at Hot Page and meanwhile my stale decks can't get any new Likes (which seems to be the main factor for Hot Page, not the actualy activity), so hopefully it won't immediately hog up Hot Page again.

I don't actually expect anyone to follow my example but at least I tried to fix this site.

You have a great idea Puschkin.

It is just that my decks are meant to help others who wish to build in a wallet-friendly way.
...and nowadays I post new decks quite rarely.

Those two are the main reasons why I keep crafting public. Thank you for bringing the topic up though.

Well, if nobody replies anymore you could conclude that it's done helping others. As far as I understand it, there can only be 2 decks of the same user on front page, right? So, you actually reduce the chance of your newer decks to make frontpage if you keep the older ones there. You have lots of peers following whatever you publish, so you have probably the best chances of us to get your next deck on top.
It's just a theory, though.
