A storm deck with a budget feel? Ok, here you go. Sideboard is going to be the thing that costs you the big bucks, however, so piece that together as you can. Enjoy.

Deck discussion for Mono-red Storm

I really like the Locket of Yesterdays, sadly storm is probably the only place it'd work.

Goblin Lore is interesting. While it digs deeper than Tormenting Voice or Wild Guess, it also throws away a lot more. Additionally, while it may net you a card (+4, -3); where Tormenting Voice / Wild Guess doesn't (-1, +1); it leaves you with a lot less control over what you keep.

Reforge the Soul seems like an odd choice. Miracle can only be used as you draw it, and only if it's your first card drawn in the turn. So, 5 mana to refuel the hand seems a bit expensive.

With Young Pyromancer and Empty the Warrens in the sideboard, 1-2 Goblin Bushwhacker could be a nice sideboard option too. +1/+0 and haste to all those tokens you just stormed out (and the Bushwhacker itself) is awesome.

Correction; Goblin Lore is +4,-4 and Tormenting Voice / Wild Guess is -2,+2 (including the card itself). So neither net you a card.

Yeah, Locket and Ascension work really well together.
Past in Flames makes all cards that were discarded with Faithless and Lore playable again, so really they are doing great things no matter what you keep in hand. It cycles really, really fast. In fact, with Reforge in mind a Laboratory Maniac isn't a terrible idea if you wanted to splash in blue.
Reforge the Soul IS only good for the miracle, however... Seeing how a 5 cost does make the storm harder to pull together. What would you consider replacing it with?

I'm not sure you really need that much dig. I run a mono red Dragonstorm deck from time to time and I only run 12 draw cards (4 Gitaxian Probe; 4 Manamorphose; and 4 Tormenting Voice). But if you really want draw, I still prefer Tormenting Voice or Wild Guess as you get a bit more control over what you draw. Also, as their discard effect is part of the cost, copies from Pyromancer Ascension won't make you discard anything.

Oh, and here's my Dragonstorm deck:

After testing I still stand behind my stance with Past in Flames, but I did end up taking Lore out for Tormenting Voice only because Lore did screw the combo ONE time... Out of like... 10 games. That one game could have been important, though, so I went ahead with the good advice. Thanks, both of you!
