Deck discussion for Merfolk

Spicy. I fair to understand why Gilded Drake and Manriki-Gusari are in the sideboard. The drake seems a little pointless and the Manriki-Gusari seems extremely conditional; there are like, no legacy decks that run based on equipment, or even that have imporant equipment at all for that matter. Also, Chalice doesn't seem like a maindeck card to me. If you were only running Cursecatcher as a one-drop that might be alright, but with aether vial you have your curve set up so that the only thing you can safely hit without sideboarding first is 0. It might be still be good... but maybe not, hence a sideboard card.

This is a deck that already run on Wizards website from 2015. The point why Chalice of the Void makes sense in the point that many many legacy spells run 1 mana in loke Lightning Bolt does. The first turn in a game is playing a AEther Vial and Chalice of the Void turn two. Because anything else in the deck consists of two or more mana except the Curse Catcher it could be brought into play with AEther Vial on turn two. This deck does not run more than Force of Will as counter cards so a second anti counter main card is Cavern of Souls.

To the sideboard as I wrote above, the deck is from 2015 and since such decks as Stoneforge Mystic are stil in meta the sideboard cards may make stil sence
