Deck Description

The video game Until Dawn is a very cinematic game where you take on the rolls of a few high school students taking a weekend up in a snowy cabin with a delusional friend and strange beasts from ancient legend.
This deck is themed of the blizzard, beasts and murder that takes place during that night. Can your opponent survive Until Dawn???

How to Play

This is a simple tap/kill play style. Tap down or kill off your opponent's creatures while unleashing your Wendigos (Icefall and Thing)

Haven't seen the movie ... playwise Royal Assassin would fit but I guess he won't fit the story. And cards I can second-guess might fitt he movie tend to be white or green.
But I can feel there is a theme, so well done! It sounds like an episode of Supernatural :)

Plus Wiitigo is the closet card to a wendigo.

I went with Thing because of the build up and fast killing. Awesome game though. I don't have a PS4, so I watched Markiplier play it

What about Murderous Compulsion or Death Stoke instead of Royal Assassin? Should fit the gameplay AND theme, albeit being weaker than a reuseable card like the assassin.

Murderous Compulsion relies on the creature being tapped, but I can see where you are coming from. Death Stroke however is a Vintage/Legacy card

Choice of Damnations comes to mind, not much else for now.

Can you do one themed on the farm with the trapper next? :D

Which one is that? I was actually considering an The Evil Within, but that is a slightly harder one because it is so twisted

Its one the the characters in the game, but i realied that this is "untill dawn" not "dead by daylight" my mistake!

There's no real way of winning. Although I know this is themed

Thing in the Ice can kill pretty fast and he can tap blockers.

That and Icefall Regent. Tormented Hero can also be pretty big eventually

Pretty cool. Here's a few that I thought of.
Confirm Suspicions (a little pricey cmc for a counterspell but fits the theme)
Encase In Ice

Cheers!

I've always had a love for Taps. On the surface, it's a very simple concept, tap your opponent's stuff and they won't be able to fight back. However, it's often a far more complicated deck with much more depth than at first sight. It's also worth noting that, of all forms of control decks I have ever played, Taps always seems to bring out the most rage...People just don't like having their stuff tapped.

I have a Taps deck of my own that I'll have to look at to find a few things I might be able to suggest for this one. Mine is U/W, but I can at least suggest the good blue cards that are in there, which there is quite a number of =]

Forgot to mention, I understand this is also a themed deck, but I think I might still have some stuff to suggest =]

I would think about adding a couple of Royal Assassins becasue it would help kill off the creatures after you tap them.

I would in a normal tap deck, but this is themed deck and I don't see any instances of an Assassin in the game Until Dawn

Have you thought about Time Reversal (M11 or M12) in the deck? I think it would fit the theme of a videogame pretty well.

How? The game is progressive and doesn't have any time reversing. Something like Anticipate is more like the theme of the game with the Totems

YOu can always start the game over fresh by playing it all over again, hence the game restart-themed card

That's a thing with most video games. Since it doesn't actually have anything to do with the content of the game itself, the card is unsuited for the deck. I would be more likely to use that card for a game deck of Singularity, but that's about where it ends

This deck look so much fun :D i have played the game and it scared the hell out of me..

I'm not a very good mtg deck builder, but Claustrophobia looks fun in this deck?

There was basically no claustrophobia in the game. I like the idea of the Claustrophobia card, but it doesn't work well with the theme.

Great game, but needs MOAR butterfly effect. It's like a Telltale game, great in the game setting, but your choices really don't matter much in the end.....

How to Go for the Throat or Remand fit the deck......
Wait... The Wendigos rip the heads off of their victims....

Nah. Too much other murder to consider

You should put Dark Depths alond with vampire hexmage in this deck just for fun haha

Also vampire Hexmage

Neither cards fit the theme of the deck. Also, the Hexmage Depths combo is a Legacy/Vintage thing and this is a modern deck

Deck should consider [in its modern legality]
- Darkness
- Midnight Oil
- Grasp of Darkness
- Gone Missing
- Ongoing Investigation [you don't necessarily have to run the green, just for the blue component alone, this card is decent]
- Trail of Evidence
- Lost Hours
- Lost in the Mist
- Terror
- Uncovered Clues
- Snow covered lands
- Frost Marsh
- Sudden Storm

If I was building this as a competitve deck, then it would be quite different. I was trying to show different elements of the Until Dawn game through different cards,

Ones like Think Twice show the character's struggle to understand the situatiin and their constant second guessing. Murder, Ultimate Price and Hero's Downfall are all about how he various characters are either brutally slaughtered or give up their lives..... semi-heroically

Naturally, I understand your thought process behind the deck. I just don't think you've captured Until Dawn particularly well, hence my card suggestions. I'm not suggesting you play all those cards, just some, because so far your deck just "man vs blizzard". Needs more sense of fear, darkness, lostness, clues.

Well they do have a lot of issues with the cold....

This deck seemed dead for a while and I've taken quite a break from Magic in general, so please understand my reluctance to go changing this deck at the moment. Tbh, I didn't think it would get that much attention anyway.
