Deck Description

I made three decks in an attempt to make Fraying Sanity and mill functional in Modern. This is probably the most competitive version I came up with, as it's essentially a run-of-the-mill (Hah!) UB list with the Fraying Sanity/Traumatize combo jammed into it. Other than that, the only thing I changed was adding Glimpse on a stick Jace and some Sewer Nemeses.

How to Play

To a large extent this deck plays itself. Slam creatures and enchantments, mill your opponent, and Surgical Extraction Emrakul if that's relevant. Fraying Sanity is a very high priority, as a two mana mill ten spell becoming a two mana mill twenty spell is almost beyond compare in terms of efficiency in Magic. It's something akin to eight damage of burn to the face. It's also worth noting that Fraying Sanity + opponent's fetchland + Archive Trap + Archive Trap is an instant kill on turn 3 (or 4 if they search for anything on their following turn), which combined with Fraying Sanity + Traumatize on turn 5 makes for a wide variety of fast lines to a win. The only backup plan for this deck outside of raw mill is Sewer Nemesis beats. The creature itself is normally large enough to be a threat on your opponent's life immediately, but if you're struggling to get any traction milling your opponent, or you're finding your Fraying Sanities are struggling under a Rest In Peace, then Sewer Nemesis is also a weak card.
