Deck Description

2 Combos in one! This deck has been really impressing me in testing because I now hit value more often with Marvel. You can do some really sneaky tricks too...

Manabase may need sorting out so suggestions are welcome.

EDIT / ADDITION: Since this whole deck was essentially banned in Std I tried at a modern FNM (forgot my modern deck) It went 4-1!!! beating Burn, Tron, Lantern Control, and Some janky White deck??. Lost to Titan Breach 1-2 but was close.

How to Play

The hardest part is fixing 4 colours but if you've got the energy then turn 4 Marvel can often hit the Saheeli combo piece missing from your hand.. or an Ulamog! I'm testing Rogue Refiner mainboard but it can easily be swapped for Whirler Virtuoso for more energy and an alternate "Thopter" game plan which can be useful against aggro, espesially with the increased toughness of 3.

***THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:***
1) I've found that getting a large amount of energy is pretty easy so I've had times where blinking the Marvel with the Guardian to get 2 activations gets through 12 cards to find Saheeli.. or an Ulamog! (or both).

2) You can -2 your T3 Saheeli to copy the puzzelknot to set up T4 Marvel which if you hit a Guardian can reset Saheeli to go off... or just hit an Ulamog!

3) Aethrwind Basker is absurde!!! In testing I've cast it turn 5 using Marvel with a Servant, Rogue and Saheeli on the battlefield creating 3 energy, copied it with Saheeli -2 creating another 4 energy then attacked with the hasty copy creating another 4 energy (11 energy total) then pumped it with the lot making it an 18/18 hasty trampler on turn 5! I'm considering playing 2 mainboard and 1 Ulamog. Plus it's far more easily castable from hand than Ulamog...

More to be added as I find them...

***MATCH-UPS***
Not really found a bad match-up yet but the new Mardu and GB aggro decks may be troublesome hence the shocks, Virtuoso's and Radiant Flames in the SB. Negate's against control but a certain number of Dispel might be worth considering. The Appetite for the unnatural's are for Colossus or any other troublesome artifacts (which there are many now!). The Aetherwind Basker is in their to test as if you're going for the Virtuoso/thopter plan, it'll REALLY helps for big energy totals to help with point 1 above.

Suggestions and thoughts are welcome.

Deck discussion for 4c Saheeli Aetherworks

Great deck! I like the combos and ideas. I am assuming you're using the Shocks on the sideboard for match-ups against a similar deck to this one. If so, I would suggest using Wrangle as well or instead of, to steal the win rather than prevent it. Just some thought

Hi, thanks. The deck has been doing really well and went 5-0 on my first FNM. I've made some minor tweeks to the deck. I did consider wrangle but being sorcery I would almost never get to use it. If they curve into the combo (turn 3 saheeli, turn 4 Guardian) they win. Having an instand speed way to interact with the combo is key especially on the draw. Additionally, with shock I have more option to develop my board on turn 3 by having access to play my 1 & 2 drops and still leave protection for their turn 4 combo. Even more, shock is better against aggro. Thanks for the suggestion though. :-)
