Deck Description

My goal with this deck was to create something you can buy for under one hundred dollars yet that can still be played competitively. The hardest part about building this deck was figuring out a way to make it work without the help of noble heirarch's Exalted ability and without Inkmoth Nexus which in a lot of scenarios could help get in that last poison counter to win the game.

How to Play

Playing infect is somewhat straightforward. Buff your creature up and swing to as much as possible trying to give the other player 10 poison counters. However anyone who has played infect knows that it is not always that simple. Your main infect creatures are Blighted Agent and Glistner Elf both 1/1 creatures with a CMC of 2 or less. This puts these creatures at the disadvantage to things like Lightning Bolt, Fatal Push and pretty much any other burn spell played in modern. Now even though we technically can win with only one infect creature on the field we still don't want our creatures dying so we play some cheap counter spells like Dispel and Spell Pierce. These spells will be used to keep our creatures alive rather than control our opponent by countering their creatures.

Winning:
*Something to remember: Losing life early game is not a problem. Remember that your opponent basically has a life total of 10 thanks to infect so taking damage is not a problem for you when you can win in a single turn*
The first two rounds should be spent ramping and planning for your win. Round one you can drop a Birds Of Paradise to give you a lead in the mana game or a Glistner Elf. Round two I would recommend dropping one of your Infect creatures or playing Serum Visions which will help you plan your next two draws. From there on out your goal is to keep atleast one of your creatures alive while buffing it with things like Rancor, Giant Growth, Vines of Vastwood, and then make them unblockable with distortion strike to hit them with as many poison counters as you can.
