Deck discussion for America Miracles (Modern)

I'd put in some way to draw a card during your opponents' turn, that way you can miracle during their turn if needed. You would need some way to untap all your stuff too during their turn so you can have mana to cast them xD

Vendillion Clique does that, but youre right, needs more draw.

I'm running 7 draw spells that setup miracles so I feel like its at a healthy medium but thinks for the suggestion! :)

My concern is your draw cards are only sorcery speed (for the most part). getting some instant speed draw power would be more beneficial.

Terrible deck.

Miracles will not effectively work without cards like Brainstorm and Top.

People on MTGS have been trying to put a Miracles deck together in modern for too long now. It ain't gonna happen.

While alleyway jack is an asshat about it, he is right. Miracles is great in Legacy, it just doesn't have what it needs to be effective in a format that is as fast as modern. Constructive criticism is what we are all looking for here, no need to a assclown about it.

I like the idea, keep up the creativitiy Splooge!

I mean this doesn't have to be tier 1, I was always a fan of miracles and the potential that they could supply so I decided to make a deck for modern around them. Also I would never just right out say a deck is terrible without play testing it because it could perform better than anticipated. Most modern tier 1 decks seem bad on the surface and then you play them to find out that there is major synergy and card potential. But thanks for the criticism anyways! I appreciate it even if it's rude! :) (Thanks btw zeppelin!)

The only things im seeing are possibly changing out the swan songs for maybe another path and another bonfire? and maybe switch out 1 seachrome coast and a tech edge for maybe a island and another celestial colonade? I haven't played miracles personally so I could be wrong.

if you wouldn't mind stopping on by and checking out my standard deck that would be great and much appreciated!

I agree with the celestial colonnade. Whenever possible run that card, it is a game winner!

Nice deck. What kind of win % are you sitting at (ruffly)? If I were to suggest anything it would be to replace See Beyond with Serum Visions. Sure you won't get that extra card but you get to dig 1 deeper and more set up for miracles. As far as Bonfire of the Damned is concerned I would take it out all together and put Terminus to 4 and add 1 Temporal Mastery. That would allow you to change your mana base around eliminating red all together creating room for a 4th Colonnade. As well this would let you decrease your fetchs which on occasion will screw your miracle set ups. In sideboard replace Wear/Tear with Disenchant.

This is simply my opinion take it for what it is. By all means disregard and keep it the same.

Happy Casting

No clue lol, just made it for the fun of it :) Wish I could own this deck though haha And thanks for the ideas! I'd prefer to keep it America Miracles cause any miracle deck I've seen is always U/W so I was trying something different ;)

No worries man just giving my opinion :) There all U/W cause many have done the play testing to realize it's more consistent. As we all know consistency is one of the most important things in a successful deck build.
BTW I hate plugging my decks but I would really appreciate some feed back on this one if you have the time.

I played USA(with little green) Miracles, when they were standard... ...that was one of the most succesful Standard decks I've ever had... ...Noxious Revival was awesome & you could utilize it even now in Modern!......

It's a shame that Ponder's no longer legal in Modern... ...it was Standard back then & I used the s_it out of it almost every week... :)

It's been awhile, but you might be interested in taking a look... ...perhaps it could help some way: http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/havenfire/ This deck is listed Standard, but it's no longer of course...

I was thinking of noxious revival, cause i can splash it without actually adding green to it. So i'll add a 2 of to the deck :) Thanks for the suggestion!

When Innistrad & Ravnica were both standard, it was the golden age of MTG for me :) ...but this deck I've posted here has been made when Scars of Mirrodin & Innistrad were present...

Anyway, I'm glad I could help... ...perhaps I'll resume to Modern myself for a bit... ...making a 5 color Temporal Mastery-Door to Nothingness control deck... ...wonder if it can finish fast enough & if it can prevent fast comboes from scoring the win against it.......

How does counterbalance work in the deck? Is it worth it? I kind of think it's a bit of a trap in Modern, until they print better cantrips (which they won't for a while).

I'd probably just run a few more miracles and ways of ditching/drawing them.

0

It works because you do a lot of scry like abilities so might as well be countering spells with it. :)

you still have to guess what theyre going to cast, and set it up accordingly. COunterbalance only gives your opponent information in modern, without Top or even brainstorm to help it along. Telling Time is cute with it, but that seems like it requires too much setup....I agree with NASA. just run more draw. See Beyond is absurd.

I'd rather have more setup to actually play the miracles instead of accidentally hitting them with the draw cards. That's why i like the setup cards more, just my style though.

0

Plus it doesn't matter if they see your setup because they're stuff will mostly be countered due to it and earlier setup.

See the thing about casting miracles from the hand is this: they are WAYYY overpriced from the hand and WAAAYYY underpriced from the miracle effect. If you're not casting them for their miracle price, you're almost just better off with discarding them and hoping for something better.

I wish people would just accept that not every deck can be ported over from other formats. This deck cannot do well without tops and brainstorms.

This deck can do fine, it just may not be as consistent to the Legacy counterpart, but it can still get the job done.
