Deck Description

Mayael-based deck I made for a dude who wanted it for his girlfriend =]

Deck's name is based on a poem. I figured it fit with the fact this is for the guy's girlfriend =]

How to Play

Mayael can play a pretty strong role in the deck with her ability, and therefore it should be used smartly. It allows you to dig 5 cards deep and pick out what you need. When you think of it this way, the ability is just the right amount of mana.

Your early-game beasts will become have the potential to become big-time threats late game, and your true late-game beasts will be a force to be reckoned with.

Deck discussion for And before me blooms a rose...

Sorry to comment on an irrelevant deck but im dying to know. You talked about a way to shuffle called a "6 card split" on your deck http://www.mtgvault.com/surewhynot/decks/3-stomps-youre-dead/
Cant find out how its done. Mind explaining?

Basically you make 6 piles of a random 10 cards each, sort of like if you were dealing people a hand in a game of poker. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is, but that's all there is to it.

My apologies for the late reply, I just finally had time to sit and relax after a busy weekend.
The deck looks sweet! thanks a lot for your time =]. Once I gather some extra money I will definitely start buying the cards. I'll just change some of the mana to more affordable double mana cards like the ones in the bant deck.

Once again thanks a lot and can't wait for my girlfriend to play with it single and multy =]

Hey my friend wants a legacy deck that has a budget of 400$, but the deck has to be something creative, never before seen.

nice deck.i wondering if you could take a look at a deck of mine and let me know if anything should be changed.i am trying to make deck good enough beat my friend's naya deck but i want it to be something unique that not most have done.i made a standard deck using master biomancer and corpsejack menace with using ooze fluxes to make big tokens.here is my weblink: http://www.mtgvault.com/douryu/decks/corpsejack-biomancer/

Now, its not exactly a 'Rose' but with all the land-Fetching, haven't you thought of 'Lotus Cobra' or something more plain (no pun intended) like 'Steward of Valeron?'
Its cool as it is, just thought I'd drop my 2-C

Dude, use crap like Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse instead of overpriced cards that burn you while you look through your deck.

ah another duelist who doesnt understand y they r used... ok the reason u take that one damage from the expensive lands is for the speed factor. for a person like myself, wilds and expanse is the best i can do, cant afford the better lands. however, for anyone who can get their hands on some of them, they r a great tool. instead of that needed forest coming into play tapped it comes into play untapped and ready for u to drop that Arbor Elf and it thins the deck out a lil in the process. just some info for ya.

well no doubt surewhynot, its another pretty good deck. does feel like something is missing from it though, im not sure what it is though lol. on a side note, seems like it has a sort of stompy feel.

Exactly. However with the sudden surge in prices of the fetchlands, I'd say just use the others if its all you got. The prices of fetches now are outrageous and I'm glad I got all mine well before the spike. Sure, you'll lose some speed since things come in tapped, but it's doable.

What it's missing is card draw, and that's why mayael plays such a big role. She is essentially the replacement. Card drawing doesn't actually mean having a hand full of cards. It means having options. Mayael helps fill that void. It looks odd because it IS odd...it's an unorthodox way of doing a Naya beasty aggro.

I feel bad that I asked you to help me with a standard deck even though you aren't keen on standard.I'm not worried about that standard deck if you haven't been able to make much headway on it.I do have a non-standard deck idea in mind if you would be more interested in making a deck list for it instead. The idea is a demon tribal deck.

0

Well I already have a demon tribal as a matter of fact. One of the main reasons I haven't made any headway, along with my detachment from standard is I recently got a puppy. So a vast majority of my time is devoted to him now =]

How is the puppy training going? My friends and I are starting to get into edh.do you have any tips for making an edh deck?i am trying to get a deck list started with Vorel of the hull clade as my leader.

The three biggest things I can suggest toward making an EDH deck is...
1) In EDH, "re-usable" effects are extremely useful.
2) Try to build around your general, develop a theme and run with it.
3) EDH is about fun, so make sure your deck is too =]

The puppy's doing well. He's already grown so much, and is always learning new things =]

I don't like this deck for one reason, because you're one of those people who's waste up to 12 getting land on the field when you can just use the standard Taplands (not gates) or Shocklands.

Not to be rude but as a compliment i copied this deck cause i just loved the cards in it.
I ramped it up quite a bit and its insanely fast and hard hitting.
I added 4 exploration, 4 taigas,4 savannahs and 4 plateau.
2 Ruric Thar and 4 spellbreakers.
Minus 1 boros.1 quasali and 2 wooly thoctar. The mana base seems very high but you get 4 or five in second turn so heavy hitter indeed.

Kinda late on seeing this deck, but I love it! For more speed in this deck, and if you have the money to spare, I would suggest glimpse of nature and/or scout's warning.

I really like this build! I've pondered this kind of deck for a while now, but never really dived into it :(

Having not actually played this deck, Retaliator Griffin seems good. What are your thoughts on it?
