Decks with Stuff: R/W Warriors

by TemurMan on 05 June 2015

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (11 cards)

Sorceries (7)

Instants (4)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

I have lots of free time to be used! Since I noticed that many different types of decks are being ignored in standard, I will try to create budget decks that are competitive on these ideas.

Decks of Stuff will try to make competitive Standard Decks that nobody uses at a budget level(around 15-25 dollars)!

Suggestions are appreciated:)

How to Play

Basically a budget standard warriors deck. WAIT what?! There aren't any black cards in this deck! I noticed that almost all the warrior decks in tournaments are usually B/W. By playing R/W instead, you can utilize powerful burn spells while still having the warrior aspect. The main idea is still to play warriors and turn then sideways while pumping them up.

The only critique I have is that with Alesha, you have four in the deck, but can only have one on the field at a time. Maybe remove one or two of them, and some more instants or sorceries that'll buff your Warriors. All in all, cool deck, a lot of good combos.

I forgot that Alesha is a legendary creature. Thanks for reminding me!

probably one of the best decks i've seen since my old uncle istvan invited me to shave his back three summers ago. i really must commend you on your valiant efforts on a standard warriors build as many have tried but failed. just like the americans in the vietnamese war, but that isn't the point. what im saying is that youre a flower and you should never change just be yourself and make what you want your way. i wish i could actually read though, i really like your deck.

I know,it's one the best burn cards in Magic. My only problem is that Stoke costs 4 dollars which wouldn't fit this deck as budget anymore if I added it.

I don't see why this has to be two-color. Why not a mono-white version:

4 Mardu Woe-Reaper
4 Dragon Hunter
4 Seeker of the Way
4 Oreskos Swiftclaw
4 Dromoka Warrior
4 Hidden Dragonslayer - your other 3-drop
4 Arashin, Foremost

3 Devouring Light
3 Valorous Stance
1 Spear of Heliod
2 Citadel Siege

23 Plains

3 Arashin Cleric
3 Glare of Heresy
3 Mastery of the Unseen
2 Erase
1 Devouring Light
1 Hall of Triumph
1 Valorous Stance
1 Surge of Righteousness

First, it would be all white and all white=wheenie, plus no Titan strength and no coordinated assault and no burn, that's a lot to take out and it would overall be bad

I improve the deck and it becomes bad? I don't advise building multi-colored decks on a budget that won't pay for the mana fixing. There are plenty of good mono-colored options. I wouldn't want my Arashins to rot in my hand or be unable to activate Alesha due to playing 20 basics. Mana fixing gets more important the more aggressive your deck is, so no, I can't recommend we play coordinated assault and burn spells in a "warrior" tribal deck where the only pay-off for our tribal restrictions is a three-of Arashin Foremost.

How bout dis? You make your wheenie deck and go do your own thing, while this deck stays on the hot page. MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Budget gives you a section to buy play and work with. If you like it invest the money. So though I agree mono colour is more consistent and your deck isn't half bad, this isn't the point of this deck.

The decks creator should really add a "if you have the money add this" to the deck notes though...like northy does with the SB of most of his budget decks.

This list cost $4 more than cows deck by this site's ridiculous standards, so I believe you could buy it for $20 if you shopped around. $20 mono red is excellent and $20 mono white (the list I posted) might get you a few FNM wins, but the "rw warriors" deck here is garbage. If you're going to build a budget deck, do it right - make something that doesn't go 0-5 at FNM.

Your deck will probably go -2-5(not possible) but it's a hyperbole, how bout just zip your mouth and go away?

Hidden Dragonslayer has lots of value. Even as a 2 drop it has lifelink. But add in megamorph and removal? I 'd add 2-3. Foundry street denizen is also a cheap 1 drop warrior with upside.

hiddong dragonslauier i legit, but founder street dennizen only gets buff from other red creatures, which this edck doest have that much of.

@lowercasejay
Thank you for the suggestions! The only reason that I wouldn't run Foundry Street Denizen is because this deck only has six creatures. That doesn't give it enough punch in this deck.

Might I recommend a pair of God's Willing in place of a few wild slash? it helps get past blockers, and can protect from things like Bile Blight, which seem like they might be a large issue.

Also, when Origins comes out, maybe consider Gideon. His price will probably juggle for awhile but I doubt it will be out of the required range when all is said and done.

Nice idea but I can see some weak points. Why you don't play a playset of
Herald of Dromoka? It gives all you little Warriors vigilance :D And it would be better
to spend some bugs extra for a better Manabase.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------[Creature (20)]
2 Aven Skirmisher (weak but flying one-drops)
2 Alesha, Who Smiles at Death
2 Arashin Foremost
4 Herald of Dromoka
4 Seeker of the Way
3 Borderland Marauder
3 Hidden Dragonslayer

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------[Instant (15)]
2 Coordinated Assault
3 Devouring Light (maybe think about banishing light)
3 Lightning Strike
4 Titan's Strength
3 Wild Slash

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------[Sorcery(2)]
2 Rush of Battle (gives you an advantage and if you fail you still got some live)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------[Enchantment(3)]
1 Spear of Heliod
2 Citadel Siege

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------[Land (20)]
4 Wind-Scarred Crag
2 Battlefield Forge
6 Mountain
6 Plains

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------[sideboard]
SB: 1 Devouring Light
SB: 3Dragon Hunter
SB: 3 Trumpet Blast
SB: 4 Rending Volley (board in against blue and white)
SB: 4 Kindled Fury

Hey TM, Thank you for creating and posting this deck. Im new to mtg, i have only been playing for a couple years. I have only experience in red/black and mono black. Ive been looking to get better and try a new mana color at a time. Red/white budget is exactly what i was looking for, being new. I play mtg with my friends who play in f.n.m and competitions. I rarely win against them but play alot only to get better and learn as much as i can. Iyo would this help me get better and/or stand a chance against my friends who use, greenblue, bluered, and greenwhite? I love the redwhite combo and want to make my first "real" strong" deck. Any help, advice or opinion would help. Thanks. - Ben.

Ok so, do you play standard with your friends? If so, none of these are a standard meta-game so i dont know what kind of deck they are playing, i'd suggest red green aggro or esper control( if you can afford it ) will fit for competitive play.

Well being a noob i will ask, does standard count as playing at my house for fun? I couldn't tell you what meta-game is, but what i can tell you is that my friends recommend me here to find a good place to start and get advice. Since i only use redblack i was hoping to find advice on a solid deck as a starting point. Redgreen aggro seems brutal and strong, but i was kind of looking for red white, or green black, since i havent used blue, white, or green before. I barley know my creatures and whats good and not. But im looking for any kind of help, money isnt an issue if that helps. Just trying to find a good place to start. Thanks for the advice. - Ben

For the record, my friends use monored goblin, whitegreen token, bluered focus on dragons and negate and tons unblockables for all decks listed. Best i could describe em, any suggestions or deck ideas i should check out?

If you want i could post the 2 decks i have if you think that would help

Oh, and what do you think if i used your inspired idea that n.w created, " evolving entity". Ive never used blue or green.....so, given what my friends use i kind of want to go build n purchase that one.

Ok then try black white warriors or blue white control, if you're not aiming for standard use shinx's revalation and supreme veridict andend hostilities. U/W control is really really fun

What is u/w? And blackwhite warriors sounds awesome, any in the vault you suggest ? Or should i have someone make me a template to buy? Ill make a random deck based on stuff i use. Would you mind rating, helping, or even suggesting your opinion when i post it? I've never met you but you seem like you know whats good. Thank you for your help thus far, im a noob so it means a lot.

Great deck that can frustrate your enemies with how good it is, but you barely paid for it. I made a budget standard deck (not here, IRL) that was under 50$ and still beat a guy with Sorin.

Your deck is great, and I hope that your enemies get the same expression that guy had when he lost.
