Deck Description

So modern knights is an older deck concept that faded away after the sfm ban but I it still has all the makings of a good vial deck. After the recent printing of Heron's Grace Champion I decided to give it another look. So here is the usual card breakdown.

Heron's Grace Champion: A Knight that lords lifelink and stats I think its better than wilt leaf liege plus it has flash and lifelink on its own.

Knight Exemplar: One of the cards that makes this deck good a 3 drop that lords stats and indestructibility is an auto 4 of.

Knight of Meadowgrain: A solid 2 drop workhorse that is great against an aggressive meta.

Knight of the Reliquary: this card can do a lot of work tutoring up lands and it gets buffed by fetches might be worth running more than 2.

Knight of the White Orchid: Mana curve fixing in white auto on a relevant body auto 4 of

Mirran Crusader: A tech choice against the meta as junk/jund/zoo are dominating right now if burn or red decks become more prevalent consider switching to a pro red knight.

Phyrexian Metamorph: Copies 5 - 6 of exemplar.

Student of Warfare: Amazing scalable one drop auto 4 of.

Wrath of god: If your stuff is indestructible its preeettty good but this card is one of the first to be boarded out.

Path to Exile: Your playing white in modern 4 of path is almost always appropriate.

Rebuff the Wicked: Surprisingly good card that no one is going to expect. useful for keeping exemplar alive.

Elspeth Knight Errant: Amazing finisher cost and legend rule limit you to 3 at most,.

Aether Vial: the card that makes linear creature decks busted mull hard for this card.

Rancor: Probably the card I'm most on the fence about but you have a lot of creatures to throw it on and it never goes away.

How to Play

A linear creature based vial deck. Its a fairly easy deck to play with an easy to identify win con. The goal here is to get creatures to stick on the board, if you can do that your well on your way to victory.

Deck discussion for TheWeeklyBrew: Vial Knights

I've always been a fan of tribal decks. A few things to note though:

The p/t boost and lifelink from Heron's Grace Champion is only temporary (except its own lifelink). Wilt-Leaf Liege's p/t boost is active as long as it remains on the battlefield.

I'm not sold on Phyexian Metamorph; nor Student of Warfare. In the Student's case, it could be just because I haven't played with it, but the Level up effect only affects itself and you have to waste precious mana to level it up.

student is truly a busted card its better than you think it is and yea metamorph is shaky its one of my on the fence cards, heros grace ill defend forever here it may be a temporary lord but it is a powerful one and lording lifelink for a turn can close out games as a two of I think its not to greedy to run over wilt leaf.

Back to student though you can spend excess mana you don't curve with on him hes a scaling one drop that is always relevant that's not something most one drop creatures can say.
