A single Darksteel Plate probably costs more than the entire 60 card deck, though. It's a great card (and really six bucks or whatever isn't terribly expensive) but if you're going for a sub-seven dollar budget deck it doesn't fit.

I would sideboard things versus exile and sacrifice. Like protection spells and artifact recursion. Maybe Tajuru preserver if you can splash green.
God this was a long time ago xD I as such an idiot back then, so much so that "budget" was "themed" in my eyes. That aside, yes, definitely, and the walls should be counterspells
