This is my newest brew for standard. I am looking to play a deck that can handle itself in the current meta. To me that means that it needs to be able to beat vehicles, gb aggro and delirium, and the saheeli combo. I think that a pure counter based control deck is too slow, as that is what I have been playing with for some time now. This deck runs a ton of removal. 13 removal spells all with varying degrees of finality to them. This seems like where I want to be in a world full of aggro. It also plays with a good amount of card draw which I am going to need if I am blowing through my removal on all the aggro decks. It also has value for days with the torrential gearhulks and goblin dark dwellers to re-use the spells that I already wasted prematurely. Kalitas seems great in the aggro matchup to gain you life back and to make an army in the right spots. Gonti is just a low down dirty thief and its value does not run out if he were to die before casting the spell. Dynavolt is a like a back door way to keep you a float, or put the finishing touches on an opponent that is already low on life.As always, I would love some feedback.Thank you!PS - the whole sideboard comes in for control. React to all your opponents creatures with kill spells. Get back ahead of your opponent through anticipate, glimmer of genius, ob nixilis, and saheeli. Attack with your more efficient threats to win the game. It is all about board management in this setup. Kill creatures, negate planeswalkers(or negate to keeo your walkers around).
