No No, you don't get a turn.

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Sorceries (3)

Instants (3)

Artifacts (2)

Enchantments (3)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

How to Play

It's mainly a hyper american control standard deck, but it does have some nice combos. Giving medomai double strike while you have aurelia is pretty unstoppable. You get four extra turns with two battle steps per turn to wail on them.

I love this deck, so dont get me wrong when i say this but have you ever heard of the term "simplicity is key"? focus on what makes your deck take those four extra turns. not everything else that just gets in the way when you draw it when you could be drawing a medomai or an aurelia. just some things to think about.

I understand what you're saying, but there isn't too much that I can do in that respect. I don't run black, so I can't search my deck for them. I can run hexproof to protect, but that can be in the way and is better in a sideboard. Do you have any suggestions for how I could do that?

well for one your plainswalkers jace and elespeth are useless because they dont protect your good cards directly they instead need protection, thus wasting your protection cards or making them ( expensive cards) useless. i dont really see uses for brimaz or ephara either they are averaged at 30 dollars at non-foil? and again dont protect much. instead put that money forth into more aurelias furys to tap their creatures or even just run, simply a sleep or 4. also boros reckoner seems to be in the way a little.

Ok. I wouldn't call elspeth useless so easily, but I see your point. I don't care about how expensive they are, although I guess that you guys might if your thinking to buy it, I don't think that aurelia's fury is worth anything, so I only run one, and boros reckoner is very good deflection. Cards like him make people think twice when attacking me. Anything else that you think that I should change? sorry, this deck is kinda long thought upon. Do you think that I should run mutavault or aetherling?

Ah Elspeth is awesome imagine your playing this deck and some how do not get your combo cards but draw a elspeth and are able to play it that elspeth will keep you alive

Render silent over dissolve also I would try to find a white fetch spell

The only standard white fetchers I can think of are the enchantment fetchers in born of the gods.

yeah, I don't like that fetch. But I make up for it by filling the deck with random good cards haha!

A couple azorius charms maybe? I'm guessingtemple of mystery is placeholder for red blue temple? Man, I really cant think of anything useful to suggest. Definitely gets a +1 from me.

I like azorius charm, but it just isn't enough for what I'm trying to do. But thanks. And awesome! This is currently my tournament winner. So far undefeated.

I'm not sure I understand. How do you get four turns? Medomai can't attack during extra turns? Based on how the text is I don't think attacking twice in one extra combat phase will give you an extra turn on the back end. Am I missing something?

0
Posted 09 March 2014 at 17:13

It will, actually. He gets an extra turn every single time Medomai deal combat damage. So if he deals damage twice over two combat steps, you get two extra turns. He can indeed attack on the extra combat step because it isn't the same as an extra turn. Hope that helps clear that up!

1
Posted 09 March 2014 at 19:04

actually the way its worded Medomai cant attack on extra turns so he only gets the first extra even with both

0

It's a extra combat phase not a extra turn

You know the other thing I was going to say is that while Brimaz is a great card, he doen't really help you do what you need to get done. You should replace him with Odric, Master Tactician. They have a similar cost and Odric will allow you to choose how your opponent is blocking (or not blocking at all) on all of those combat steps.

I don't know if you overlooked it or just didn't want it but I adore the card Counterflux. Though I wouldn't know how to squeeze it in.
Question time! How does Ral Zarek work for ya in this deck? I know if you take 4 turns he can get even more turns which is epic, but without that ability I always found him to be next to useless in almost all situations. Even if you build him up and ult him it's still jut a chance that he will get anything for ya.

0

I second the Counterflux. Absolutely game changing in a match up against another Blue player.

0
Posted 10 March 2014 at 16:55

actually, I'm running him for his first two abilities mainly. I like the first one because it can mana ramp and evade. And counterflux had never really worked too well for me, but I guess that I'll try that to.

I know that it's not standard, and you're trying to keep it standard, but lighthouse chronologist would be awesome here.

0

yeah, too bad. I thought of some cards like that. I'd also want grand abolisher, time walk and some others. I might actually make a modern deck with a similar concept.

Time walk LOL that card is like 799 dollars

0

I meant temporal mastery haha! But if I had time walk then I'd run those I suppose.

0

I really like this deck. There are only 2 things that could make this deck better. First is mana ramp. The deck is slow, with practicly no action on turns 1 and 2. But putting green in this deck seems wrong. Which brings me on to second; 1- and 2-mana spells. you need to slow our opponent down on the first 2 turn, so the first thing I think might be -2 Dissolve --> +2 Syncopate or +2 Azorious Charm. The last thing you want to do is to just hold 3 mana open on turn 3 for a counterspell. Syncopate can be played for X=1 to counter, or you can play Azorious Charm for its bounce effect. I'm also thinking you should drop some of your 1-ofs.

0
Posted 10 March 2014 at 17:00

thanks. I was considering switching dissolves for something. the charm sounds good. And yeah, I'm trying out precinct captain and imposing sovereign right now. ok get back to you soon. :)

0

I don't think you need Precinct Captain, but Imposing Sovereign is perfect to slow down your opponent.

0

Yeah, I'll switch in imposing sovereign. It's especially good against speedy decks like rakdos is supossed to be. Thanks!

does the double strike really count on medomai

Yes. Double strike makes him deal damage in two different steps.

I love this deck. I think the addition of Ral Zarek in it is great because he can be given loyalty counters through all your extra turns then ulted for even more turns. Your opponent would be helpless. It's really really cool, and I've never liked American Control but now I definitely want to try it out.

I'm thinking of replacing one Ajani and one Ral with the two gods. Because Ajani is fairly important for this deck. And do you think that I should add godsend? I can't decide because it's not as good as the swords, but probably the best equipment in standard right now.
