Expensive to build, but powerful if you get that combo out. And with 3 Lotus Petals and 3 Regrowths, I'm afraid your deck is not Vintage legal, if that is a concern for you.

Not sure I would use Enduring Renewal; I've never been a fan of revealing my hand to my opponent. It seems like other cards, especially what you've got in your sideboard, will do a good job of protecting your lands/creatures. Other than that, I like the deck.
This deck was built in 2007. The only card that was around the you two have mentioned was Cancel, and he chose to use Counterspell instead. I would too, in a casual game. He simply hasn't updated it to include cards from newer sets.
I know you're not playing any blue, but I've always loved Glimpse the Unthinkable with Nihilith. Still a nice deck.
