Deck Description

A dreadful idea came to me while I was at work (yes, work, I really am that much of a nerd); If Myr are a force to reckon with right now, what if Myr were Illusions? No, not thinking on a metaphysical scale, though, technically, they are an illusion, let's not get into that. What if the cards were indeed read as follows: "Artifact Creature - Myr Illusion". So, you see where this is going, no?

(For those of you who are still looking at me like I'm clinically insane, I might be, but I'm referring to dual-tribal.)

So far, my major issue is trying to grab the combination to make my Myr ephemeral, which is LotU + Xenograft. LotU I can dig for easily enough, with Ponder and some Leads, but I have no grab for Xenograft, which is a little annoying at times, considering it's a key element. If anyone could help me with this issue, I would much appreciate the assistance. Other than that, my only possible finishers that I can note in Standard as of now are Overrun (Waaaay too green-heavy) and Triumph of the Hordes (Which is about the right cost-effective range, but I'd prefer to use it as a backup plan of action). Besides making my fairly cheap little Myr into Hexproof mini-tanks, there's no physical "Oomph!" effect, which is definitely needed. Another thing I would like help with, if you could.

Deck discussion for Simic Myrllusions

If you want that added "Oomph", why not use Myr Propagator and Palladium Myr with Grand Architect and Myr Galvanizer? You'd essentially get infinite myr tokens.

As an added bonus, look into Ruthless Invasion. It makes your creatures unblockable for a very small price.

Good idea, keep it up.

Thanks, I keep forgetting about the phyrexian mana (just because it's red doesn't mean it's RED). I thought about the infinite token business as well, but decided against on grounds of it now being cliche. Nothing wrong with being able to win by making an annoyed oppnent scoop, but I'd like the result to be based on the effort put forth by turning Myr into illusions. Ruthless Invasion REALLY helps, though.

I like your concept a lot and not one will expect it. With all that search, you should, in theory, come across XenoGraft along the way regardless, but I can see how the deck would fail to be threatening otherwise. For the next two months, tat least, I could still have regular Garruk and his repeatable Overrun or Overwhelming Stampede (which could be beastly with Superion out). Beastmaster's Ascension is another option, if you want to be agressive, or just sneak stuff through until it gets 7 counters. Or, if you find that you can get some damage through, Hunter's Insight might help you draw into what you need.

Just spitting out ideas, I hope some of this helps you. ^.^;;

Thanks for the imput Mercedes. Yeah, the card draw and bits of shuffling due to certain cards does help my odds quite a bit, though Hunter's Insight might really add to it. Only thing is, that subtracts from my possibilities for offensive spells to boost my myrllusions. Garruk would work, if he wasn't so bloody expensive (costwise, since I actually plan on constructing this for fun reasons). For Standard as of now, between the two, I'd definitely choose Beastmaster's, More cost-effective and the overall output is monstrous. And I noticed something about the ability on it too: I only need creatures to attack, not deal damage, to trigger its bonus. This gives me a bit to think on, thank you.

I've become a big fan of the Ascension, partially because I run it in a token deck. It's easily conceiveable for me to attack with 7+ creatures in one turn. XD
