Deck Description

I stopped buying cards for a while back in Oath of the Gatewatch due to money issues. Recently things have started looking up so I started reading the new cards I missed in Kaladesh, New Dominaria, Amonkhet, Ixalan, and Magic 2019. I was not disappointed when I saw these "Aetherborn" creatures.

They looked so cool and Yahenni was so awesome that I could not resist building this one. I know standard isn't for much longer, but that also made this really cheap to build!

How to Play

The premise is simple, use Authority of the Consuls to gain life steadily and counteract the life loss from Midnight Entourage. Use the Gifted Aetherborn to rack up kills that buff up Yahenni while deterring attacks.

Mid game: Transition to summoning Gonti and using their own cards against them. If a threat appears, clear it away with Murder, or Yahenni's expertise for a ton of tokens coming at you.

Late Game: If you even make it this far without murdering your opponent, you can keep using acrobatic maneuver for more late game card draw and abuse ETB effects. Keep flickering Gonti to steal their spells, flicker the Aetherborn marauder to transfer counters from Yahenni onto a flyer in a pinch.

The Metallic Mimic is there for obvious reasons besides just the tribal aspect, it also allows my aetherborn to enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter, then by the time the aetherborn marauder is ready for action he can transfer a whole lot of counters and do some serious work.
