Been making a series of teaching decks on a super budget. I try to keep it under $10 and pick a theme. I try to have at least one of each basic type of card in the deck (creature, instant, sorcery, etc.) to help with teaching each ones function. Also try to include a small sideboard to introduce the concept.Here's the white one I finished first:https://www.mtgvault.com/basilicanero/decks/white-life-gain-10/This deck is based on finding multiple cards which perform 3 basic "black" functions: 1) Having expendable creatures, 2) Destroying your opponents' creatures, and 3) Bringing your creatures back from the graveyard.Card choices were made with function, deck cost, mana curve, and flavor in mind (and in pretty much that order). Ex: Raise Dead is in over some other one drop cards doing similar things because it is such a classic black card.
The 12 "Festerers" - Festering Gobling, Festering Newt, and Shambling Goblin.The 12 "Raise Deads" - Mortuary Mire, Raise Dead, and Cadaver Imp.The 12 "Killers" - Grave Peril, Severed Strands, and Fleshbag Marauder.To support that I included the Bogbrew Trinity to capitalize on Festering Newt and add some more fun interactions. To finish up added some card draw with Altar's Reap (synergizes with the "festerers" and adds an instant) and the cycling lands. To play essentially swamp the board with small creatures that don't stay dead. Wear down your opponent's creatures and thin them out. If that isn't doing the job then the Bogbrew Trinity will hopefully be able to finish them off.The side board has Dark Favor to make slightly beefier creatures if you find you need to deal more damage more quickly, and Trespasser's Curse it against say maybe a token deck that has too many creatures to kill them fast enough.
