Deck Description

Have a group of kids playing beginner level Magic I work with every other week. I like building budget decks that showcase specific abilities and combos . This one showcases 'Defender'!

It's got a good mana curve so it's really consistent, and the Fog/Holy Day duo plus the life gain give is lots of staying power.

How to Play

Most of the great lands and support for this are sacrificed for the sake of budget, but you have tools regardless.

Essentially: play defenders, gain life, play Assault Formation, attack.

You can try to fend of troublesome creatures with Cathedral Membrane and Hornet's Nest (and the tokens).

All the life gain and preventing combat damage can help deal with anything that does get through.

Axebane Guardian combos well with both Dawnglow Infusion defensively and with Assualt Formation offensively.

As far as attacking, Assault Formation is pretty much required but Wakestone Gargoyle's ability allows your entire board to attack for cheap, allowing all your available mana to buff your side if necessary (thanks again, Axebane Guardian)!
