The original was estimated to cost about $200 and I wanted to see how low I could make it and still maintain the feel/function of the original deck.This budget version I think keeps the feel of the original pretty well and comes in at just over $25. That's just about an 87% price drop. Which is not bad!
Most of the budget swaps are pretty self explanatory:- Smother for Fatal Push.- Clone for Phyrexian Metamorph.- Falkenrath Noble for Blood Artist (although the low CMC of Blood Artist is so good I wanted to keep at least two).- Dismal Backwater & Jwar Isle Refuge for Drowned Catacomb & Watery Grave.- I added 2 Hunted Horror for more triggers to back up Hunted Phantasm. Not too worried about the ProBlack centaur tokens because of all the blue removal in the deck and the 7/7 Trample for 2 is great.- Now taking out the Panharmonicon for the Genesis Chambers isn't a direct replacement BUT I think it does a damn good job for a fraction of the cost. It will create more triggers on everything except for doubling the Hunted tokens (so not ideal but not bad!)---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------HOW TO PLAY:The point is to flood your opponents' field with tokens that they can't use and that hurt them for merely existing. Make tokens with:Hunted Horror, Hunted Phantasm, and Genesis Chamber.Make them useless with:Illness in the Ranks, and Echoing Truth.Make them hurt with:Blood Artist, Blood Seeker, Falkenrath Noble, and Trepasser's Curse.On top of that you have decent life gain and removal for other threats so: go nuts!
