I've got a similar deck to this one. If you are gonna have Ni-Mizzet you may as well have a few Curisosity for the winning combo.
This deck can be changed to be Standard (T2) legal with a few changes. The first is changing Lava Spike for Ophidian Eye (instant win with Niv-Mizzet.) Another change is Rite of Flame for Desperate Ritual. What is the focus of the deck, Niv Mizzet or Gelectrode?
one thing everyone is going to have to do is switch volcanic hammer out for incinerate.

I like the idea, but as above: Incinerate for Volcanic Hammer, Ophidian Eye for Lava Spike, and Perhaps Seething Song instead of Desperate Ritual? Check out my WTF? 1-turn-win deck.
if format isn't an issue, never get rid of Desperate Ritual and Lava Spike....with Izzet Guildmage they make the infinite damage combo. especially fun in multiplayer chaos games, it's awesome to kill 4 ppl in one shot =)

Take Blaze out and put Banefire in. Does the same except the fact that Banefire can't be countered or prevented if mor then 5 colorless Mana has been paid. and thin about Fork - doubles an instant or sorcery ... in this combo: with 8 Mana dash in with ten damage that can't be prevented :) and where is Lightning Bolt? :) ... is a must have to deal 3 dmg for only 1 red Mana in a deck like this
You need more variety
dopy is right, it is trashy...the only way you can win is by getting a ton of land to replicate lava spike, or by surviving for 6 turns, then hoping your opponent doesn't counter/remove Niv-Mizzet from the game.
