Deck Description

There is so much colorless eldrazi love that i had to to give it a try. as i built it, i came to the realization it just couldn't be as god as a colorless ramp deck , simply because the crazy-good eldrazi are just too high mana. but i dont think that's a big deal. Casting eldrazi with mana from tombs, ruins, caverns and monoliths is too good flavor to sacrifice for mere functionality.
First game of playtesting featured a turn 2 hardcasted kozilek. such an event has never happened again, but still, it was crazy.

How to Play

race out mana rocks, lay down eldrazi. can hardcast an eldrazi on turn 4, sometimes turn 3, and on the luckiest day of your life, turn 2.

wow i'd totally forgot about that. but come to think about it, with the creature count at 9, i'm not sure if it's worth it. yeah i'd get to push through an eldrazi for a lot less mana, but since there's only 9 eldrazi i almost never have more than one in hand. this means that i'll be in situations where i have up to 15ish mana, but i'll be only using 4 of it to sneak in an eldrazi, which seems like a waste. it also means i wont get the "cast" triggers off of kozilek/ulamog/artisan. you could make the argument that amulet protects from counters, but caverns fills that role just as well. so i feel that in a more creature heavy list amulet would be an allstar, but in here it seems rather lackluster.

This deck needs some work. You're going to have a big problem dealing with fast decks or control decks.I think you have too many playsets of mana ramp artifacts in your deck. Try splashing green for something like Awakening Zone or maybe you want to spend money on Show and Tell or Sneak Attack. You should drop some of your mana ramping artifacts for control spells or colorless creatures that will buy you enough time to cast your Eldrazi. You might want to look into something like Trinisphere, Static Orb, Winter Orb, Tangle Wire, Sphere of Resistance or Thorn of Amethyst, Lodestone Golem, etc. I don't know how much money you want to spend but a playset of Mishra's Workshop is retardedly fast mana. Its also banned in Legacy.

you seem to be suggesting i build a STAX or Sneak & Show deck. for competitive play, i would run a STAX list over this deck any day. however, this deck is not for competition but for the kitchen table, and so fun and flavor take priority over win percentage. the flavor i am working at is simply "All-Colorless Eldrazi Ramp," which may give you more of an idea on where i am heading with this deck. i definitely agree the deck needs some work. as for the number of mana rocks, i am caught in a dilemma -- if i dont run enough of them, my eldrazi dont come down early enough; but the more mana rocks i run, the less slots there are for the eldrazi themselves. right now i am airing on the side of more mana rocks, since being stuck at 6-7 mana with eldrazi in hand is less fun then being at 10-12 mana and on the draw, atleast for me. the ideal solution to this problem would be card draw, but to stay in flavor the deck must be colorless, and am blanking on good colorless card draw. thoughts on that?

Yeah... full colorless is tough. You could try using Urza Lands with a playset of Expedition Map. You could try the Cloudpost Glimmerpost combo too. Otherwise you're stuck with the lands you have now and mana ramp artifacts. I'd say try playtesting using 4 Quicksilver Amulets but I'm guessing you want to CAST the creatures to gain their cast bonus. You could try running blue for High Tide maybe. With so many artifacts you could try running a few Mox Opals. You could also try the Infinite Mana from the Myr creature combo too.

Wow, what a deck =O Makes me want to scrape some cash together and build this cool sucker =D

A way to gain more mana is to include a couple of 'Crucible of Worlds' for the 'City of Traitors' and 'Crystal Vein.'
Use, Recycle, Reuse ~_^
Funny enough, I´v been working on a copy which harvests mana like that B-) Only without the 'Traitors'

You´ve done quite an amazing job with this, Brian. Kudos, man =)

Thanks allot! yeah i was looking at crucible, but my problem with it was that i couldn't figure out what to drop. yeah it converts land-drops to 2 colorless rituals, but if you really think about it, that makes it just a less dependable worn powerstone. and when looking through the deck, i couldn't find a spot for powerstone, so no spot for crucible either. thanks for the comment though!
