Card discussion for Animist's Awakening

Honestly, I'm not sure I like this. Most times when I have enough mana to make the X worthwhile, I'd already be in a position where I wouldn't really need the extra lands. Sure, a land heavy and / or landfall deck would like this, but I'm still not fond of how little control I have over how many lands it can 'fetch'. At least it puts the rest on the bottom of the library instead of into the graveyard.

Thinking on it again, even a landfall themed deck isn't a good fit. The main source of mana in landfall is the lands, so by the time you have a decent amount of mana for this card's X, you've most likely removed a good number of lands via other land search effects, which lowers the chance of this getting you more lands.

The only way this can be good is in a deck that can produce a lot of mana without the aid of lands that also has effects that care about lands entering the battlefield and / or a number of lands in play. So basically any GX deck, GR comes to mind because of Dragonmaster Outcast. But even then, I feel traditional land search fits the bill just fine.

Now, if this was an instant...
