If you can pop nissa and not win. Then you really suck at strategy. Nissa is so good for her second +1 and her huge win condition with her -7

I agree with you, clockworkcopper. Nissa is 5 mana, so your opponents will have 4/4s or 5/5s, so they could kill your lands by blocking them, or even just with removal or burn. They die to stoke the flames.

That's 5 mana in green. Turn 3 or 4 and you're playing her already, so the odds of the opponent having 4/4's or 5/5's is somewhat lower. Also, depending on the deck build, the second +1 to untap 4 lands is far more powerful than animating a land.

I would much rather play Nissa, untap 4 Forests and play a Polukranos. Her first +1 ability is super good against control, because the games are stretched out far more than with say a midrange or aggro deck. You'll have more lands than they can kill, so if worst comes to worst, you can animate your lands to attack. The second +1 is good in a deck like Green Devotion, because you can ramp very quickly. Overall, a great card.
