Why is this so expensive?

Because for four mana you have a 4/4 creature with a better version of a thoughtseize with it. Look at vendillion clique's price, this card is very simulair to it.

It's thoughtseize on a creature that's cost can be reduced with Eye of Ugin. It's efficiently costed
