A more slow-burning, grindier, more dignified infect version as opposed to the more popular turn 3 hellbent counterpart. The deck is not meant to infect your opponent by turn 3-4, but slowly chip away at them and protect your infect dudes with counter-magic. The faster infect version does very well against non-interactive decks, but against decks that pack heavy removal it can fall apart. A lot of times a single fatal push to a glistener elf is all it takes to stop them right in their tracks. That is why this version seems like a better contender against the control decks and Jund decks. With phyrexian obliterator and Kalitas in the sideboard, it can even become a UB tempo deck post-board if needed.
