The gameplay is.....ARTIFACTS. Play them. Lots of them. Use them for value. Possibly even win with them! Ramp, draw, tokens, the fun cannot be halted! Just go nuts and bolts over artifacts! Slobad is mostly here to help maintain utility. By having a built in sac outlet in the zone, we can turn dead artifacts into value. Coveted Jewel about to be stolen? Sac it and keep another artifact around for a turn! Need more out of Circuit Mender? Sac it! Your Steel Hellkite facing a Murder? Sac a Wedding Invitation to save it! About to blow up the board with Oblivion Stone? Sac a few artifacts to save the important ones! The beautiful thing is that we have quite a few ways to recur artifacts, so it's most likely like they aren't gone forever! With all the ways we put artifacts on board, Slobad is sure to be useful!So, what are upgrades we can run? Goblin Welder, Junk Diver, & Goblin Engineer can add recursion, Scrap Mastery is huge, Ugin the Ineffable & Mycosynth Golem can really help churn out artifacts, Wurmcoil Engine always exists, Treasure Nabber essentially turns into removal, Hellkite Tyrant is a win con, and there are plenty of artifacts that tilt the game in your favor! The most nightmarish upgrade, however, is actually a hated strategy: mass Land Destruction. Most playgroups despise it, but if you find one that doesn't mind, you can add Devastation, Jokulhaups, Obliterate, and a few more artifact and land wipes, comboing them with Slobad to save key artifacts.
